I watched (and rewatched about a hundred times) this version of the manga about 5 years ago and it still is, without a doubt, the BEST out of the three HYD versions ever. Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao are the best Domyouji and Makino drama incarnates. Adorable, laugh out loud funny, swoon-inducing and heartbreaking at times.

It's an amazing series, despite what other people say. I loved that courage and patriotism played a big role in their relationship. It's refreshing to witness these types of obstacles other than the usual things (e.g. parental opposition, ex-girlfriends, differences in social status, etc.) that Korean dramas throw at us. How many love stories can you count wherein Mother Nature played a pivotal role in making a romantic relationship stronger? LOL. And I also loved that both lead characters are so successful in their own professions. How they gradually complemented each other in terms of moral principles and beliefs as they deepened their relationship is what makes the romance unique for me. And that's one of the reasons why I really love DoTS.

Acting was truly top-notch. And I especially love that part where it was emphasized how the American government manipulates the decisions of foreign governments.

Such a brilliant masterpiece. It forces you to think deeply about what it means to be human and sacrifice long after you've seen it.

This is one amazing and beautiful movie about first love. Hilarious, light yet bittersweet. I highly recommend it!

This was such an unexpected pairing. But I'm happy for them :) I never expected to love DoTS in this way. It wasn't on my list (since I've stayed away from K-drama for more than a couple of years now). But I'm so glad I decided to watch it. It was awesome and it made me return to K-dramaland once again!
