I have this tinfoil hat theory that the casting directors were originally going to cast Pavel and Nut as Babe and Charlie, but throughout Boys' Journey they saw the real life chemistry between both Pavel and Pooh and Nut and Ping and decided to go in a different direction. If that crackpot theory is true, it's just proof that sometimes you need more than real life chemistry to make something work. And if the show lacks that, it is ONLY the fault of the casting directors and nobody else.

LOL. You can't blame Nut for that. He didn't cast himself. He probably thought he was going to get cast as Charlie, since they used him in the pilot trailer. A paycheck is a paycheck.

Let OffGun have one cringe romantic comedy. Haven't they cried enough for your entertainment?

They missed the mark not marketing this as a comedy. This show is hilarious. All of the characters are deeply unhinged on an almost It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia level.

I actually agree. I have to lol at people defending his acting by claiming that Charlie is supposed to be a charisma void wet paper bag. A character can be naïve without being charmless. And I don't think Charlie is supposed to lack charisma. He's supposed to be so innocent and charming and charismatic in Babe's eyes at least, that it justifies how Babe falls for him so quickly. Those things lacking is not due to the character. It's due to the actor's lack of ability and range. Pooh does indeed seem lovely. And he's young. Given more roles and experience, I have faith that he will get better. But I wish they didn't give him this main role in such a highly anticipated series to use as a canvas to learn how to act.
