finally sat down and watched this drama to see what the hype was about, and to some degree i dont get it. i loved the world building, the acting and scenery, but at the same time it was overwhelming. i usually enjoy slow burn romance even though this was slow suffering but what i didn’t understand was the miscommunication between the two leads. for 10 straight episodes the relationship circles around the same emotions/argument. every time they took a step forward they somehow managed to go five steps back. it would’ve been fine if the drama focused more on the historical tragedy rather than the romance but they instead use this tragedy to repeat emotional miscommunication. its not like the war is tearing them apart but they are tearing themselves apart because nobody knows how to speak clearly. at this point its not even slow burn there is just no real progression. its just so sad to see because the setup had so much potential.

they didn’t feel like high schoolers anymore with all the gangs and fighting. cool fights tho. the ending was a bit goofy too

i took a break from kdramas for a few months as i couldn’t find any good ones till i saw this on netflix. it hits close to home. i love the storytelling smth about it, is very refreshing

i dont think you’re supposed to like the male lead at the start. i think they deliberately made him unlikeable so that his transformation feels more meaningful.

im in eps 20 and i get what you mean. the story is indeed very boring especially the backstory the highschool part it made me wanna skip it each time it felt like it added nothing to the story. also the lack of communication between the two main characters is so annoying like even when they speak they add nothing meaningful to the conversation
