very interesting, in K-dramas and C-dramas it's usually a fight between princes or prince and king; I never saw…
If you like this type of plot you should watch "my mister sunshine" (if you have not seen it already). Like "my dearest" it's a fiction with a historical background set in Korea in the late 1800s and early 1900s, on the eve of wwii, and the japanese ocupation is a big part of the plot...
Lee Soo Hyuk is awesome, thats a fact... I think the first time I saw him was in "the scholar who walks the night", even though his character was the villain and he was acting together with Lee Joon Gi (probably one of my top 5 fav actors of all times) he still stole that show in my opinion.
The greatest product placement is Bad Buddy x Seaweed crisp company, from ep6. It does make you go to the shop…
Yeah.. The PPL from Thai dramas are sooo in your face that it's endup been funny.. Like, if there isn't at least one scene per episode of someone eating Seaweed crisp or drinking a Oishi tea for sure it is not a GMMTV show...
For me one very memorable PPL is from the kdrama Triangle. Back in 2014, when waterproof cellphones were still a new thing in the industry, this drama has a scene where Im Si Wan character drops his samsung under the faucet and very nonchalantly leaves it there and just keep doing whatever he was doing. Not knowing that samsung had judt realized a waterproof cellphones (or about the existence of waterproof cellphones in any way) I remember thinking something like "I wish I was so rich that I didn't even bother to have just destroyed my cell phone" and then the guy just picked it from the sink remove excess water from the screen and call someone, that was such a shock that I had to pause the episodio and go search for it (not that I could afford it in the end, but still...). I pretty much forgot most of the plot from this drama but this PPL just got stuck in my mind for some reason...
Snowdrop just broke what was still left of my heart after Young of May... I swear I will avoid 80's politic dramas from now on for the sake of my therapy bills
Its very difficult for a drama make me cry.. But from the dramas you mentioned that I had watched "Scarlet heart ryeo" and "Youth of May" were the ones I remember I just couldn't handle my feeling and had to protect my eyes... The keep me on my toes from episodio 1 untill the last episode, while praying for a outcome that would be less hurtful for the main character... "Reply 1988" also make me cry, not because its a tragic story, because it isn't, but because of the so beautiful way they display the character emotions and how no matter how much you which to go back in time its just not possible...
I think a good example for the option 3 of a love tringle with a third heal would be "Boys over flowers" or any of the remakes, since the female leader(Jan-di) has a crush on the second male leader(ji-hoo) in the begin and then after fall in love for the male leader(jun-pyo)...
