Ep 34. I see what you’re doing there LSY. You tell Sixth Uncle to not go running over to check on Yixiu, but then you have someone bring Yining over to you? 🤣🤣
It was very cute how he checked her all over, though.
Yining handled Lady Zhao perfectly. Now if only LJX was as easily handled. As she saw him out the door, she said she had a request for him and he replied eagerly that he would do anything she asked… so why doesn’t he BACK OFF like she has requested a zillion times over? 😒
So tomorrow he goes undercover and doesn’t tell her? She “severs” ties; lord I hope he tells her so she’s…
He had already asked her before what she would do if he acted contrary to everyone's expectations and others turned against him for it. She answered then that she would always trust him because everything he did was never without reason. Given their earlier convo, I'm sure she can put 2 and 2 together to have at least an idea of what he might be doing and trust him in the present.
I love this drama alot but honestly, did we have to wait 33 episodes for the first kiss... And what's with the…
Everybody has different tastes and preferences. For example, I loved the main couple and their story in Are You the One, but that was about it. The court politics stuff absolutely bored me and I didn't feel it integrated well with the remainder of the story. But because I only liked the main leads, I started to get impatient with the reveal in that drama and it really dragged for me. Rise of Ning, by contrast, I'm invested in every episode and I like how all the various stories are woven together. I'm never bored. If I'm impatient about anything, it's for the next episode!
Ting is her biological half brother! But he is an illegitimate son of the duke! His mother was a tongfang/maid…
Yep, and if anyone's wondering when/where this was explained, it was in the episode where LYN first goes to the Duke's house with the other Luo daughters (minus Yixiu). When Grandmother Luo was telling them about the invitation she'd received from the Duke's manor they discuss his marital/children situation.
The Duke just wants to live out his girl dad dreams but his family is just so cold towards Yining. So much has…
I don't know if you've seen Eps 32 and 33, yet, but already the Duke's family is warming to Yining. Grandmother Wei, in particular, has really come around to liking and appreciating Yining. We didn't see much of the little brother, Ting, in these two episodes, but after Yining explained to him her pas and why the Duke is spoiling her so much right now he actually seemed to get it and so hopefully any future interactions with him will be better.
Lady Zhao is the hardest nut to crack at the moment, but her situation from Ting is different in that she's not biologically related to the Duke but a distant relation the grandmother adopted. Her footing in the family is less secure, she's of a similar age to Yining (only one year younger) and so the comparisons are inevitable. It's not surprising she would feel insecure/uncomfortable, especially when she hears the gossip from maids and others around her. But I'm confident Yining will win her over in the end.
Mostly, I think what we've seen up until now is everyone adjusting to the new normal - it's realistic that everyone would need to go through such a process given what they're dealing with.
Also Ci Sha needs a ML role stat! I normally hate the SML and i still do here, he's a horrible person lol also…
If you want to see ZWY in a morally grey drama, you can give "I Know I Love You," a try as he pursues the female lead while knowing she's in a relationship (albeit a dead end, last legs kind of relationship - she just hasn't broken up with her longtime boyfriend). I quite enjoyed that one!
Master Sun's daughter is not doing much so she is not a real threat but LJX is a stalker, a manipulator and a…
Like I already said above, I don't think Congwen is devious or a real threat either. But I still find it annoying when we have these characters (in dramas, generally) who can see the writing on the wall and yet still persist in pursuing those feelings. It's a pet peeve. :P
I don't fault Congwen for being attracted to the ML; clearly, she has good taste! That said, given how he's turned her down at every opportunity and offers no encouragement, she should move on. *Not* try harder to foster a relationship with the ML.

34: Sounds like the marquess and the prime minister are headed towards a fall out. It is always nice when the baddies turn on one another. They can never trust each other!
35: Ah, the moment LSY warned LYN about has arrived. What appears to be is not always what it is. Sending strength to LSY!!
I hope they won't try making the so called "sister" in her new home too much of an evil, otherwise it would just…
I hope I’m not jinxing things by saying, I don’t think she’ll cause too much trouble, if she does cause any. She doesn’t strike me as an evil person but rather an insecure person. You can see at times she’s warmed and tugged by/towards LYN. But then something will happen, it makes her uncomfortable, and she takes a step back again. These sorts of actions lead me to believe a relationship between the two is not impossible so long as she can be made to feel secure - Something LYN is trying to do by sharing the duke’s gifts with her. Right now, I think they mostly should replace that maid of hers! She keeps putting doubting ideas into Lady Zhao’s head.
🤣 You really think they would make a C drama about incestuous siblings?
It can’t even really be said that they grew up together…. They have like one childhood memory together. One she needs someone else to help her recall. She otherwise spends her entire childhood living by herself before they reunite at the start of the drama.
I think one of my favoritest things ever in this drama is “the look” LSY gives LYN every time he knows she is hiding something from him on purpose. It makes my heart melt!
It was very cute how he checked her all over, though.
