the episodes today are just... bravissimo!!!! i can't believe we only have 10 more episodes. but man, all episodes are top tier - plot, costumes, acting, score, production... maybe low on the hmu dept but this isnt an idol drama, so it's fine.
migosh. ik it's too early to say this, but this is undoubtedly the best drama of 2026!!!! (and i thot twas moli a few weeks back lol) it's impossible not to love this drama at all. get back to me and tell me i lied. lol. the tight plot and gripping storytelling, ai mi's brilliant portrayal of her character, even the Grand Tutor is surprising. oh, this is just so good. i hope the ending will be just as great as the current episodes! i'll be rewatching this many times along with LITC.
i love that the pacing of the drama is well-balanced. though there were times it got fast, it was for building suspense. im glad that i dont have any novels to base my expectations too, coz i get to immerse in the story and the intricacies of the political intrigue. the costumes once again are superb.
anyway, with all the actors' ages being a concern in some cdramas, i practically dont care anymore, because the fact that they have already been cast in the drama, the project must have the green light from their OWN PARENTS. so who am i to judge?? as long as they dont show mature scenes with minors, what's the hype all about?? the KIDS are working hard and working just fine. so fine that i didn't know they were actually minors. i look at them the way i look at millie, watson, radcliffe, zendaya, olsens and the others. and that's just mine tho. so toodle-oo!!!
once again, after Glory, HMH did it again. this story is right up his alley and still a good pick for him. he always has a good pick of dramas. his mgt is quite good in this department. i hope he stays in "hengdian" forever. hahaha
costumes quality is superb!!! it's like whenever they come on screen, it is a must to be ironed out perfectly every time.lol reminds me of Who Rules the World. this is by far the only drama after WRTW that showcases beautiful costumes even with support roles, and that was a long time ago,lol. ok that's for the costume dept. as for the story, i was kinda surprised of how fast the story was right from the start.
is it just me? it felt like from ep36 up to the finale, the drama was directed by someone else. the vibe suddenly felt different. lol. the bgm "feel" was also very different. aside from the fact that it felt rushed, i somehow understood why it had to be so, since the drama really focused heavily on Ye li's hardships despite her "issues", and how she overcame them. ep39 was a surprise! it was a proper pre-finale episode. the likes of Ye Li is hard to come by in a cdrama. i'll never forget her.
ye li is an asymptomatic carrier. the virus might have come from the monkeys of the back mountain. it could be ebola or marburg. ok ok... kidding. lol.
i really did not expect Cheng Lei to act quite the way he did in this drama. i know he's good, but not THIS good here in Mo Li. the last time i cried like this in a drama was move to heaven. and it was a given because of the theme. but Mo Li was on another level of pain and sadness. the way it tugs your human side (if have one, lol) is just... it'll break anybody. Ye Li is an amazing character. it's going to be hard to forget her.
while watching episode 30 31 and 32 it just came to my notice that bai lu character in feud wouldn't tolerate…
oh my i also thought of feud as i watched ep 32. like, wat if she got pregnant upon her return to lishan and then it took MXY at least a few yrs to come back to her. the guilt would be even more unbearable for him. like, surviving birthing alone would be near to impossible if she did survive. and yeah, the feud plot mixed into this would turn MXY crazy.
Her character is written badly and Bai Lu is performing it like she's a store window mannequin. One of worst performances…
i respect your opinion and having your pov about the character is also ok. im just glad i live in a world where everybody can express their negative views about something w/o getting literally beheaded for it. lol. im pretty sure you have your preferred actors in cdramaland, so i have no qualms about your personal preference that differs from mine. but thank you so much for droppin by my comment. i would love to see more of you in some of bai lu's dramas here in mdl.
