i did really enjoy this ep as it has the same exact tone that pulled me into season one, but at the same time i expected their relationship + hiraās low self esteem to be somewhat moreā¦evolved (?) as years have supposedly passed in the story during which they seemed to have lived together. naturally couples would come to understand each other after cohabitating, but hira still seems to have a god complex over kiyoi (though its definitely not as bad as it was in high school) and still cant conceptualize the fact that kiyoi loves him just as much whereas kiyoi can now express his emotions a bit easier, even if he doesnāt really understand hiraās. it just seems a bit odd because i cant understand hira at all. maybe iām just not reading their characters right but if hira really thinks kiyoi is ready to break up with him at any given moment, then why does he think kiyoi is dating him? especially when kiyoi has made a point to plan dates, introduces hira to other people in his life, compliment and reassures him, and praises hiraās cooking of his favorite food.
to be honest iām a bit confused about the timeline with all the flashbacks and possible time skips (?), but itās still enjoyable to watch and the cinematography is very beautiful.
I can finally stop crying now, my head hurts lol but fuck Tess, selfish asshole
cant believe he literally quit talay's job, ruined his friendships, caused a big issue with leaching money off tun as puen, and is sitting there playing games with no remorse. i feel bad for friend credits and 26 pictures when he goes back
overall this episode made me super excited for next week, but at the same time i'm kind of really annoyed that tess ruined talay's life and now talay has to deal with the consequences in the finale. like it's been two years and tess is still unemployed and irresponsible?
expected so much more from this and really tried to like it. but the storyline and the dialogs are so boring and…
not to take away from your opinion but for me atleast, i feel like the color pink being the thing that connects them fit very well and was not a cop out or result of poor writing. the series has always been clear that talay being a colorist has played a big part in their relationship - such as puen not taking tun's job seriously turning into putting his all into friend credits because of talay, puen starting to think in colors via pantone chips, and even their fight over staying in the alternate universe as talay wants to go home because of his job versus puen initially wanting to stay but now wanting to go back to their universe because he wants talay to be happy.
so pink being their portkey as it's something that connects to puen (his favorite color) and talay (colorist who comes to like pink unconsciously because it reminds him of his boyfriend) feels very fitting. had they made their portkey be a piece of media or place (media would have been too generic and easy to connect and places would not the same in another universe) I feel like that would not have been as authentic, but this is just my personal opinion.
i feel like this started out strong, but would have greatly benefited if they condensed it into 8 episodes instead of dragging it out for 12. every week it's just the same rehashed plot with no character development and i'm actually happy it's coming to an end which sucks because i was super invested in the beginning
