Last ep ripped my heart into pieces and threw it in the trash...... now I'm scared for next week. I rarely watch crime shows but this one is so well pieced together.
from the looks of it, it's gonna be officially confirmed soon. the author just followed Yangzi on weibo. As much as I hate mental health issues being portrayed on tv and was hoping China wouldn't get obsessed over it the way kdramas did...... I saw that the book is written by an actual pshychiatrist so I'm a bit more relieved. It's a very distinguished author, got tons of awards, so I'm glad Yangzi is getting serious roles.
here's the current conflict: mango tv (online streaming) and hunan weishi (one of the biggest broadcast stations…
I don't think it's just the haters, he got called out by a major newspaper or a channel or something. It's like getting scolded from someone from the higher ups, it's a big deal. Chinese channels are very much involved with the government so they don't want to risk it, especially since people are still shaken up by the covid thing and the government is trying really hard to appease the public. Government comes before money
I love that FL is sort of taking her revenge on him. It makes things so much more interesting. The premise of ML being a criminal was already quite intriguing, now it's getting better and better.
I don't think FL is being cruel. It is a fact that when they met he made (some)things very clear to her, but despite…
I also feel that FL is reacting in a pretty understandable way. A relationship, a marriage, a family, they are all based on trust. He proved to be untrustworthy and now she feels like her whole world just crumbled down. You could argue that she is being petty by torturing him but hell, he didn't just lie about his identity, he even had a kid with her...
I just hate this drama. Sloppy writing, misuse of characters, waste of purpose and meaning for all of this, hateful…
I mean, you can really expect a 14 yo to know how she feels and what she wants, especially since she grew up being shamed for being fatherless. Looking for your biological parent is so tricky, even a 30 yo wouldn't know how to act. I recently heard a 30 yo describe it as the most difficult thing in her life.
Apologising helps one move on and do better in the future but doesn't cancel out one's past actions. FL is gonna apologise too by the end of the drama (seeing that this is a kdrama) but that's not gonna change the fact that she made tons of mistakes.
AJ is so self-absorbed and incapable of dealing with her own feelings, it's frustrating to watch. However, I don't want to bash on her, I actually feel bad for all of them because it's such an unfortunate situation, mostly for Hanee. Adults can make their mistakes and deal with them but a child is innocent and powerless in all that. FL made the worst possible decision by leaving and not telling ML about their child. She suffered the consequences of her own actions for 14 years, struggled as a single mother and felt bad for her child (even though she repressed it all and chose to act like it was all fine) which is unfortunate but the most unfortunate thing is that her child suffered thoughout all this. As an adult and as her mom, FL should've mustered up the courage and confronted ML about it 14 years ago and get a clean end to their relationship, for Hanee's sake at least. She is so self absorbed, all of her decisions were about herself. She didn't notice Hanee was feeling lonely, maybe she didn't even want to admit it because she just had to keep up the facade that they are all fine despite everything. On the other end, ML is pretty self-absorbed as well. He neglected her and didn't consider her feelings and claimed he was victimised for the next 14 years, never admitted his responsability in it (just like she did for 14 years) until FL told him 14 years later. At the beginning of the drama he wanted to get his "revenge", he's petty and childish. The difference between the 2 is that ML has admitted to his mistakes and now feels horrible, he's trying to make up to his daughter but doesn't know how to. On the other hand we have FL who is still uncapable of admitting to herself that she made a horrible mistake and stuck with it for 14 years and made her daughter suffer. It's a very difficult thing to admit to yourself that the person you love the most is suffering because of you. So on a scale of emotional intelligence I would say they are both pretty dumb but FL definitely way more than he is. Hanee is the the smartest one for sure, which is sad too because she's only 14 and is so considerate and mature because she grew up around too much bs. The adults in her life really messed up and they all own her an apology. I'm not sure if the FL and ML will mature enough... but admitting her mistakes is a good first step that FL is gonna have to take for Hanee's sake. In other words, FL and ML are both dumb and need to learn to be accountable for their mistakes and Hanee deserves better.
Moojin: Ah, I see. By the way, why are you so pretty?
Hyunsu: oh boy you're about to catch these hands
