Thank you so much for pointing them out. I wrote 1762 as 1962. Also, I didn't do enough research before mentioning him as the last ruler. It was based on assumption since I somehow remembered reading that there were 22 Kings in Joseon dynasty (which was false anyways) and seeing that Jeongjo was the 22nd monarch, I jumped into the faulty conclusion. I apologize on my part, I shall edit them right away. Thank you once again.

I have watched it actually. But in terms of the melancholic tone, Red Sleeve exceeds it. If you see, Mr. Sunshine had fair amount of comedy and other happy elements. I will probably keep the difference between that and this as 19-20. I know both of them are period dramas but considering the premise and time period, I won't want to compare. I will just go cry as I have been reminded of that drama TT.

Congratulations! "The Red Sleeve Cuff (2021)" has taken over the 1st position for the saddest ever Korean drama from "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Reyo (2016); and to think that it's a real story of desolation, is truly heartbreaking. 🙂🙃

I want to give a major credit to the original novel writer. You know the same story has been directly turned into a drama in 2003 but this is an indirect adaptation and follows the novel's storytelling method. I am sure that's the primary reason we all fell in love with this drama.
