As what Nadie said, Shao Yu did not know that Huai'en was his brother. When he made the realisation in the episode, he immediately wanted to kill Huai'en so that others wouldn't find out. That's also why he apologises to his father on behalf of his mother as well.
The latest episode was good ole fashion ANGST and I loved every minute of it 😩🖤 this is becoming one of my favourite dramas. So excited to see the next ep in a few hours!

The novel actually shows their relationship pretty accurately (Xiaobao making the first move, Huaien insulting him but then slowly starting to lower his walls, etc) BUT the novel is wayyyyyyy darker. Huaien's possessiveness can get really bad, and there is still the non-con scenes that happen between them. Character-wise, it's spot on.

I don't watch many C-dramas so don't have much point of comparison but tbh if I didn't read that this was low budget, I honestly wouldn't have known. Also I was literally just admiring something about the make-up in today's episode so again - hearing that people think the make-up isn't great is news to me LOL 🤣I think it's definitely worth a try! The actors are really good and the story is very interesting (dark for sure though, if you don't mind consuming that content). I hope you do enjoy it if you watch it! 🥹
Loved the show from beginning to end. Great and Inn's chemistry was off the charts, and the side couple of Thor and Fluke was the cherry on top. I recommend trying it out for yourself to see if you like it. It's only the first ep. If you're not too fussed about plot and stuff like that and want something that seems fun/light-hearted, give it a go.
