Maybe it’s because I’m into sports, but the inconsistency to reality was blaring. I wonder if who ever wrote the script ever played any kind of sport. Her spike wasn’t good and their portrayals of volleyball were terrible.
Just finished watching the episode, and I find it suspicious that none of the trainees made mistakes in their stages so far. I wonder if they’re editing the mistakes out or having them lip synch. These guys weren’t that great in the audition. Im sure they’ve improved, but to have all of them suddenly having stable performances?????? After all those voice cracks???
This show is so inconsistent. In the earlier episodes we saw the judges getting after a contestant for not being on the same level as the other boys in his rank even though they put him there themselves fully aware of his lack of experience. In the third episode, the judges got after the stealer team for lacking teamwork even though they had told the trainees that it would be an individual mission. The “visual” mission seems to have been carried out poorly. Instead of just assigning the groups a song (which doesn’t showcase visuals any more than usual) they could have been more inventive. Even having everyone do a photo shoot would have been more interesting. Idols are expected to be able to do them and their visuals would be better displayed. I think most of us can agree that production value is low.
A lot of people are talking about Hanui’s secret being a lot bigger than Taeyang’s, but I think Hanui’s secret is easier to accept. Her secret is about something in the past that she wishes never happened, for someone to accept it is to basically let her know that her past isn’t what matters in their relationship or that her past doesn’t define her, but rather the way she lives now. Realistically, not many people knew her anyway (not trying to undermine how difficult this has been for her!), so from a dating perspective it wouldn’t be as difficult to explain things. Taeyang’s secret is A LOT of worse. His secret is much more difficult to accept when dating. It’s something that he’s doing now, and that’s harder to understand. What he does is a sensitive topic and a lot of people would feel uncomfortable dating someone in that line of work. To accept his secret is to condone his current actions (which people may be uncomfortable with from a moral stand point) and support him.
