In the novel doesn't she get recognized as a general in the end? Isn't that the whole point of the story?🙈
Since it is a rebirth story in the novel, the present He Yan couldn't claim that she is the General Feihong since she essentially in a different body. Only Xiao Jue and her mother (and also He Rufei ig) knows that she reincarnated. So, at the end, the court believes that General Feihong is dead and He Yan continues to use the tittle Marquis Wu'an.
As a fan of the original novel, I was really looking forward to this drama adaptation. Like with any adaptation,…
Agree. I also wished they highlighted He Yan's friendship with her friends more. Everything is just glossed over without much details. Until the end, we don't know a single thing about them except the first day He Yan met them.
What is even that last 2 1/5 episodes? I guess this is sort of karmic punishment for me to wish He Yan is recognized as General Feihong bcs the novel couldn't give that. But it came at the expense of not getting any scene of their domestic life after marriage 😭 I regretted it.
Can I just ask why HY referred XJ figuratively as the moon?
In the drama, HY once said only the moon ever saw her face at night, liking it to a companion of some sort. To her, XJ is exactly that since he is the only one who knows her identity at first and helps her when no one does. She also has a crush on him, so he's like this shiny figure in her life. In the novel, it was more detailed that HY also feels like XJ is untouchable so the only way she could confess to him is by referring him as the moon.
Didn’t she asked her master about what happened in court after she woke up? I’m guessing that her master explained…
Just rewatched ep 1, yup her master did explain it. I guess I got confused since that flashback scene of Xiao Jue and He Rufei plays so many times in different episode 🤣
Same. I feel like the only people that would enjoy watching this adaptation is the novel readers. It just lays…
As a novel fan myself, i understand the disappointment since the melon about plot changes before the drama release. But after watching it, i honestly like how they change it but i guess it could have been better with details. It makes me wonder what scene was cut out to have only 36 episodes.
I'm gonne be honest here ayt, i really really hate on how they fast forward things in the adaptation. but at the…
Same. I feel like the only people that would enjoy watching this adaptation is the novel readers. It just lays out the base and we fill in the blank ourselves. I'm quite disappointed that we have so few scenes of He Yan and the gang because their friendship is so unexplored in the drama.
Can anyone that has watched ep 11 help me? How does He Yan know what Xiao Jue told He Rufei in the imperial court after Mingshui battle? Am i missing something or is it just a plot hole?
Yup, if according to the novel, they both are still generals at the end and have to lead the war at 2 different…
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but as of late only xianxia drama have reincarnation plot. Other recent historical costume dramas like Story of Kunning Palace, Scent of Time, etc have to change their reincarnation plot to something like it's a book plot or the reborn is only a dream. While short dramas have lesser restriction and can do reborn plot (like the one Cheng Lei has acted). Basically it's up to their gov to dictate the rule as they want.
Yup, if according to the novel, they both are still generals at the end and have to lead the war at 2 different…
Sorry for the late reply. I read from the other fans that the reincarnation plot will be removed since it will not pass censorship. Also one of the main supporting characters in the novel got cut out and merge with other character (ML’s best friend and doctor). These are the only things i can remember since it was months ago i read about this.
Last question. Are they general only? And still general at the end in the novel? Or they have other title?
Yup, if according to the novel, they both are still generals at the end and have to lead the war at 2 different places. As for other title, FL is granted an official (marquis of something, can’t remember the exact title) bcs of her contribution in one of the war with ML. But the title is without real power bcs of the scheme of the second lead. I suggest you read the novel bcs it is brilliant. I’m sad the drama would change many things from the original novel.
