Yep. It SUCKS!!! Basically the FL has a childhood friend who has romantic feelings for her and she thought she did too but she didn't. Then she met this other guy that was supposedly super evil but then they fell in love. Yay. The childhood friend really didn't like that and then thats your love triangle. The childhood friend ends up with some disease or something (can't remember the details cause i watched this when it first aired and didn't want to cry for 2 whole months again) and had to go through treatment but something happened to the FL halfway through his treatment and was stuck with this weird pattern on his face which caused him to wear a mask for the rest of the drama and suffer plenty of pain until he died(which was so sad for some reason. It was a great thing done by the director where they filmed the mask falling to the ground and an important butterfly landing on it. made me cry for a week). And the Ju Jingyi's character had a thing for the wind guy (ML) and then ended up trying to curse the FL or something and lost a whole bunch of her power and constantly tried to get laid with the ML which caused a whole bunch of misunderstandings between the ML and FL which was super depressing. The TF boys MV at the end of each episode that did not match the drama AT ALL was a decent relief after each depressing episode. It goes on for a VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME.

Very high "facial value" and the sets and everything else is BEAUTIFUL. Only issue is that the "sad" ending is soo depressing.

NO WAY!!!! I watched this when I was 8 and had basically no feelings and wouldn't cry about anything. I ended up SOBBING during the finale and would burst into tears every time I thought about it

Never probably. She never had amnesia. She had a time-travel/ soul-swap/ fall into a thing(game, novel, past, etc.) sort of thing. She just pretended that she had amnesia so that no one would realize that her consciousness was no longer Fenwu's. From what we can tell at this point, the REAL Fenwu died that day in the forest where she lost her blood.

Yep. It's one of those typical time-travel dramas where a normal person goes into either the "past" or an alternate fantasy universe that's based on a wuxia or xianxia premise that has influence from the past. Then they use someone elses' body. That person might just be asleep, both of them are there, or the real owner died a long time ago.

Pretty sure they're going to bring up her backstory at around Episode 20-ish. They also specifically mentioned IN THE FIRST EPISODE that SHE CAME FROM ANOTHER WORLD. It's also very unlikely that "pulling a yangmi" as you call it is going to happen again. That weird memory loss thing doesn't really happen in Wuxia and Xianxia dramas. Only the fantasy ones with the immortals and their special drinks and rules. That storyline was also specifically adapted from a novel and not a lot of stories involve forgetting stuff in that partiular fashion. They also rarely ever bring it up her real life because she has to "hide her real identity and just be Fengwu" in order to figure out what's going on and why she got there.
