Xiao Zhan already said he is not photogenic. Most of his fans who saw him in person said he is better looking in person than in photos or in TV drama.

Don't keep pushing the agenda that only Xianxia drama has OE. There are plenty of western movies that have open ending. Check out Matrix, James Bond and John Wicks 4.

As for JOL, I will not recommend Xiao Zhan fans to watch it. JOL use Xiao Zhan name to promote their drama but his actual scene in the drama did not start until the last few episodes. They make him a villain. We all got cheated.

Xiao Zhan The Youth Memories is not an idol drama.
Zhao Lusi already said in an interview. She prefer to play a certain roles only so she can stay within her comfort zone. She is not ready to transition into non idol drama.
For Xiao Zhan, he has already move on. After The Youth Memories, he will select drama that are more complex.
