I get what you mean, although I don't know the original Jin Japanese drama version. All the time I did not even notice that he never questioned his purpose in Josen era. Maybe because he's hands were full all the time after Cholera started spreading. When he decides in 6 ep. that he will make penicillin I was surprised. How can he not think of consequences that may cause. And in the end he hesitated. I never suspected that historical- medical drama will be so interesting for me to watch ^^

@Farah I agree, although I really adore Jang Geun Suk, this drama was boring. I watched it while wanting for other dramas.

It had so much potential and the writers blew it. Like that friend with the guitar, he was interesting, or Joons assistant. O come on! It was all about omg he find out, omg she find out etc... now everybody knows and we will not care. And that blindness with her mother heh it's just like writers allowed "old couple" to finally be together.
This drama is so childish =) it was fun to watch till 10 episode and after that so unbelievable full of unnecessary melodrama. When it finished I liked Joo In Ah the most - she was so silly and annoying at first and she grown so nice :P loved that she started to liked Mr. Choi. Plot did not make any sense when it ended.
I cannot believe his own mother could say "leave me for a little bit" ... she was the worst bystander I could image, I thought in the beginning that she was just unaware of his situation at school, that she was just so busy working full time to pay her husband debts. She was the worst villain of them all, she supposed to love him, support him, help him, known him... and yet she just put him till the edge.
I know everyone now is so happy that ending was good and this drama is truly amazing.
But I had some other thought after finishing this drama I have to say Lee Tae Sung is a terrible actor! Not just because he played "the bad guy" in RP but his face "o ho I got caught doing something evil" was so obvious I could not stop laughing while he had his scenes in the drama. He always made his "I need a new plan" or 'I was discovered" like no one could see it and they he smiled so falsely. And that protruding eyes! hahaha!

well I'm glad that Jae Hyuk won Ga Young :P but seriously what exactly they saw in her!? ech... I'm mad on Young Gul he left all his friends and employees with nothing and just run away to NY- what a coward. He sold Ga Young again... seriously and she still "misses him" OMG drama so tiring to watch.
