Firstly, I would like to say that I am not commenting often on mdl, this one will be a big exception.
As a cinema professional, I will say that this kind of approach to cinema is as minimum too limited (I am sorry!) To analyze a work of art/cinema, we should start by its goal, and also by its genre. Even if THE UNTAMED was a war drama (which isn’t the case), we wouldn’t expect to see 100,000 soldiers on the set (even if announced in the film), since it wouldn’t be realistic. But also art invites viewers to imagine, too… This is a game we play together, we, the creators of the film, and the audience. What happens on the screen, it doesn’t happen ‘all alone’ but happens in the minds of the audience… We all know it’s a game we are playing. This is even more true when it comes to fantasy. Because Fantasy is there to unleash the imagination of the audience beyond boundaries. We do not watch a scene to analyze only, but to interpret. And this is where the best of art is more than what we see or what we hear. And finally, why don’t we ask if ‘flying’ is not something impossible with this kind of approach? Why do we just believe in it? We don’t ask from a movie to see that Wei Wuxian killed 3000 people one by one, in order to believe in it. We don’t ask to see all 3000 of them. Let’s imagine and create along with the creators!

flying scenes, effects around music, dancing fairy, light ropes... and the lead actors looked like visual effects themselves.
