It ruins the whole plot of ORV. The reason they use swords is because that’s how the power system works. The whole point of ORV is that it's centered around myths, legends, and historical narratives shaping reality. A gun would practically be useless in these kinds of situations, lorewise.
For the director giving a gun to YJH like he's a baby given a pacifier? He went through countless of regressions. He TRAINED to master the sword. And to give him just a gun removes not only the point of the story but his character as a whole. Also pretty sure he shows his hatred clearly around guns. So for him to be using guns is quite hypocritical...
If you were to just say: "Well you need to train the actors hard" then we might aswell either wait or just never touch the story and not make a live action since they pretty much butchered the whole point and uniqueness of this webnovel.
