Ok I was drawn to this series because of the description and how it reminded my of the movie "Journey to the West". I'm sure all of you remember Jet Li and Jackie Chan. I think they have made like at least a dozen iterations of this tale. Well the description of this series says sort of " a modern day medical student dreams/goes back to a Chinese fantasy." So those were some really good vibes so I began to watch it. Maybe I missed it but I don't recall anywhere in the first few episodes that they actually established that the FL was the modern day female medical student. The story is so good that I just watched not realizing it was sort of broken. Finally after 30 episodes you get to the end the good guys win and think ok it's a happening ending. But instead it's a hot mess and confusing ending. Not sure who thought it was a good idea to make it seem like the ML and FL were going to get married and enjoy life together. When in reality she was going to end up going back to modern times. Yes the story is good that this disconnection and very, very poor excuse of proper story telling really detracts from the overall feeling of the whole story. I watched this series on Amazon Prime and maybe something was lost on the cutting room floor when they did the English version I don't know but it was disappointing because it had serious potential. Thankfully after reading some of the comments and such I don't feel too bad. Strange don't know what happened.
