Episode 4: In the middle of all the chaos, when the emperor asked Qi Wang "are you willing to stand with Xiao Wuyi, through fortune and misfortune, and share life and death", I suddenly thought, isn't that a marriage vow? 😅
It's going to cost me twice the time for each episode, once to enjoy the amazing Xiao Wuyi and cinematography, and second to read subtitles and understand the story!
Just praying for all good karama to get him out of this mess without affecting his health! May he get far far in Singer. I seriously do not feel like watching this mess of a drama ever.
For all that bath in rose water and prep done in a previous episode, they finally did it when LJL was so sweaty and dirty from riding so fast to the plantation!!
#2 sister's ex. He seemed like a simp in the beginning. But in this episode he might have grown some balls of…
I am not saying what she did is right, but she explained her reasoning when she refused to let him in. "Don't give others a reason to laugh at her" referring to how the grandmother belittled the girl due to the father's low status.
That bead bracelet on Yan Bai Lou's wrist, isn't that the one stolen by the dead Yang guy? So he is the one who poisoned the guy? Why didn't RSB notice it?
Hi fellow LITC enthusiasts! In episode 10, I have this scene that I really can't understand what they were talking about. Around 37:41 (in YouTube) when they had just returned to the from the illusion to Xun Ming's wife's grave, Ji Bozai says 'It was me'. What was he referring to? That he was the one she kissed in the illusion?
Y'all think it's easy to just let go, he made the decision for her and said very cruel things to her that day…
First of all, I completely acknowledge that different viewers will relate to characters in different ways—and that’s one of the things I really appreciate about stories like this. In my case, though, I personally didn’t understand the depth of her hatred or her strong desire to kill him. While I haven’t experienced the loss of a child myself, I can absolutely imagine the pain and anger she must have felt, especially toward the ML for sealing her powers. That said, what I found hard to connect with was the extent of her hatred—wanting him to suffer and die—especially considering that he didn’t even know about the existence of their child. From what we’ve seen, he made that choice because she was acting out of impulse, without thinking through the big picture or the consequences, and he had to help rectify the situation with the higher-ups. She did not seem to acknowledge that her decisions/actions may not be correct. It felt like the ML made a tragic decision, but not one made out of malice. Just to clarify, I have no issues with the actors—they’re both doing a fantastic job portraying these emotionally layered characters. I just find it hard to relate to the FL on an emotional level. Of course, no character is perfect, and flaws are what make them feel real. I truly believe it's completely normal for audience members to connect with characters differently based on their own perspectives and experiences and background. My original question was just to make sure I hadn’t missed any major plot point that might explain her feelings more clearly. But seeing the variety of responses here and the rest of the comment section I see that is not the case. I believe these differing views are actually a testament to the strength of the drama that it’s sparked such diverse and passionate discussions.
Thank you all for sharing your points of view—I really appreciate the thoughtful exchange!
Is it just me, or is anyone else getting frustrated with her? He endured so much because of her and her choices, and yet somehow he’s the one being blamed for her pain? Am I missing something here?
Yes, it is a happy ending.
Even the previews are not available to me... Sob
