Yes, the ML (Zhang San) was a middle school kid in the real world at the time that he transmigrated into the story,…
She did not transmigrate from the real world that the ML and FL transmigrated from (where maglev trains and the city of Beijing exist, and where Beijing is the capital of the country they live in). She is the main character in the book that they both transmigrated into.
In that book (The Devil’s Beloved Consort), the FL lives in a fictional world that is based on our own modern world at the time that the book was written (so before there were maglev trains). In that fictional world, Beijing does not exist and City A is the capital of the country that the protagonist lives in. In that fictional world, the protagonist read a historical novel in which the character Xie Yong Er was a minor cannon-fodder character. Then she transmigrated into the historical novel and took over the character of Xie Yong Er. Because she knew the events of the historical novel, she was able to change events in such a way that Xie Yong Er became the main character of the story.
So the transmigrator who took over Xie Yong Er is different from the ML and FL. She is a fictional character who transmigrated into the historical story from another fictional world.
In the new version of the historical story that is being changed again by the ML and FL, Xie Yong Er’s role is different than it was in the two previous versions of the historical story. This time she is not a minor cannon fodder character, but she also isn’t the protagonist. It seems that this time she will end up being the SFL.
In the new version of the historical story, the FL found out that the transmigrator who took over Xie Yong Er's role was still a university student in her fictional version of the modern world when she transmigrated into the historical story.
so the ML (modern person) transmigrated to the novel when the emperor was a child?!
Yes, the ML (Zhang San) was a middle school kid in the real world at the time that he transmigrated into the story, and when he transmigrated into the story he took over the character of Xiahou Dan, who was just a prince at that time. He lived and grew up inside the story for 15+ years and became the Emperor before the FL (Wang Cui Hua) transmigrated from the real world into the story and took over the character of Yu Wan Yin.
He looked for another transmigrator inside the story for 15+ years in vain, which is why he reacted the way he did when the FL finally arrived and revealed herself. But he lied to her and told her that he had only transmigrated into the story a few hours before they met, instead of telling her the truth that he had transmigrated into the story 15+ years earlier.
We have known that Zhang San is a transmigrator since the first episode. Zhang San is the real name of the ML.…
No. The son did not plant the SOS flowers and did not interact with them. The scenes with the flowers were all flashbacks to a young version of the ML many years ago.
As I said, the same actor plays both characters. One character (the young version of the ML in the past) is a transmigrator. The other character (the ML’s biological son in the present) is not a transmigrator.
The Zhang San Diary scenes before the end credits are not depictions of the son, they are all depictions of the ML in the past when he was young.
Watched till ep 21Can someone tell me the reason why dan'er doesn't tell wanyin that he transmigrated 15 years…
We saw his thoughts on why he didn't tell her the truth at the beginning of episode 10.
First, he worried that telling her the truth would shatter the closeness and trust that had been built between them.
And second, although he didn't want to shatter that closeness and trust, he would rather have her doubt him than break her heart. And it seems that he assumes that revealing the truth and the depth of his suffering and everything he did in those 15 years after he transmigrated would break her heart, which seems like a fair assumption tbh.
It felt like either she figured out that although they are all transmigrators, she is not the same as Xiahou Dan and Yu Wan Yin and that she is a fictional character from a fictional "real world" while they are people from the *actual* real world (maybe she overheard them speaking about it?) OR she is going to die in the imminent chaos and it's going to be heartbreaking.
No; he was tortured by the empress dowager and that a-hole second prince.
Yes, everything you just said is correct.
But Cherrymotion only asked, "Could it be that prince duan had been suspecting that the emperor was different since they were younger?" She didn't ask if Prince Duan knew that Xiahou Dan was a transmigrator.
So the answer to the question that she asked was "Yes" (not "No"), and then a further explanation could be given.
No; he was tortured by the empress dowager and that a-hole second prince.
We found out in episode 24 that Xiahou Bo / Prince Duan *did* have a clue that Xiahou Dan was different since they were young.
When he and Zhang San / Xiahou Dan were both still young, he found out that Zhang San / Xiahou Dan was looking for someone else who was "the same kind".
Many years later he found out that Xiahou Dan, Yu Wan Yin, and Xie Yong Er were "the same kind" and he was tricked into believing that they each had the gift of foresight through their dreams. So he didn't find out that they were actually transmigrators from another world who had taken over characters within a historical novel.
Although he never found out that Xiahou Dan was a transmigrator from another world, he did have some idea that Xiahou Dan was different for a long, long time.
No; he was tortured by the empress dowager and that a-hole second prince.
Before I started watching I was spoiled about the fact that the ML lied to the FL about just transmigrating and that he had actually transmigrated much earlier, and I'm kind of glad because it made it easier to follow the plot from the beginning. So I get what you mean. ^^
No; he was tortured by the empress dowager and that a-hole second prince.
This has been answered in the drama. If you aren't caught up yet, it's a bit dangerous to ask questions in the comment section. If you don't want to be spoiled, it might be better to catch up first and then come back to the comment section.
So Zhang San is also a transmigrator, now I get it but seeing who they rarely interact and see each other I don't…
We have known that Zhang San is a transmigrator since the first episode.
Zhang San is the real name of the ML. That was his name in the real world before he transmigrated into the story and took over the role of Xiahou Dan, just like the FL’s name in the real world was Wang Cui Hua before she transmigrated into the story and took over the role of Yu Wan Yin.
Before he transmigrated into the story, he was just a middle school kid in the real world. When he transmigrated into the story, he took over the character that was just a prince at that time. He kept the prince title for years and he grew up trapped inside the story before later becoming the Emperor and eventually meeting the FL when she transmigrated into the story 15+ years after he transmigrated into it. He lied when he told the FL that he had only transmigrated into the story a few hours before they met. He was not a CEO nor an actor before he transmigrated into the story. He was only a middle school student. And then he grew up inside the story, constantly searching (in vain, until he met the FL) for another transmigrator like himself.
The actor who plays young Zhang San / Xiahou Dan in those Zhang San Diary flashback scenes is the same actor that plays Xiahou Dan’s biological son (Xiahou Po) in the present story, where he is the current crown prince. The current crown prince (Xiahou Po) is not a transmigrator.
Normally I don't care about second couples at all. So I'm surprised by how much I like Xie Yong Er and Physician Xiao together now (end of episode 22), especially since they're fictional characters from the novel that may have limited freedom to stray from the role that their characters were meant to play in the story. I hope they can have a happy ending!
please give me a spoiler. I have the same question as the ML, do xie yong er and prince duan also transmigrators?
Xie Yong Er and Xiahua Bo (Prince Duan) are both fictional characters.
Xie Yong Er is a transmigrator, but she transmigrated from one fictional world (one that is based on our modern world) into another fictional world (the world of a historical novel). This transmigrator is the fictional protagonist of the novel that the FL of How Dare You skimmed and was supposed to edit (a transmigration novel titled "The Devil's Beloved Consort").
Xiahua Bo is not a transmigrator. He's just a cunning and observant character.
So far, the leads (transmigrators who took over the characters of Yu Wan Yin and Xiahua Dan) are the only characters who are confirmed to be non-fictional people who transmigrated into the historical story from the real world.
i’m on ep 6 now, kind of confused about xie yong er’s character. so in the novel, her character setting is…
Yes. Her "real world" is different from the "real world" that the leads transmigrated from.
She is a fictional character who transmigrated from her own fictional version of our modern world (a fictional world that only exists in the transmigration book that the FL of How Dare You is asked to edit - The Devil's Beloved Consort) into a historical novel (a historical novel that only exists within / for the purposes of the plot of the transmigration novel - The Devil's Beloved Consort). She had read the historical novel to its end before she transmigrated into it, so she knew how the story went and could take action based on her knowledge of other characters' plans and future events. In the original version of the historical novel, Xie Yong Er was only a cannon fodder character. When the modern-day protagonist of The Devil's Beloved Consort transmigrated into the historical story and took over the character of Xie Yong Er, she changed its events and Xie Yong Er became the main character.
Whereas the leads of How Dare You transmigrated from the real world into the transmigration novel that the FL was asked to edit (The Devil's Beloved Consort). The FL skimmed the transmigration novel to its end before transmigrating into it, so she knows the main plot points of that novel and how the protagonist changed the outcome of the historical novel. But after transmigrating into the story and taking over the roles of Yu Wan Yin and Xiahua Dan, the leads change events so that they no longer follow the events of the original historical novel and also no longer follow the events of the transmigration novel (The Devil's Beloved Consort). In the new version of the historical story (the "How Dare You" version), it seems like the transmigrators from the real world will be the main characters and the transmigrator who was the protagonist of The Devil's Beloved Consort (who transmigrated from a fictional "real world" into the historical novel and took over Xie Yong Er's character) will be relegated to a secondary character role this time.
I console myself with the thought that they were the love story, but one that was star crossed. :(
Romeo and Juliet both died tragically young. I like to think of XL and XY more like Jack and Rose from Titanic if that helps.
Rose said that Jack saved her in every way a person could be saved before he died according to his principles long before the natural end of his life. In the end, Rose not only survived, but successfully escaped her previous life, family and identity.
She lived a long, full life with her new identity on her own terms, willingly married another man (not one that was forced upon her by her family / social position), and had children and grandchildren, just as Jack wished for her. And although she did all of that, she never, ever forgot Jack. Her very last act, at 100 years old, was to return the Heart of the Ocean to the place where he died. And then she died, and her soul reunited with Jack in their own version of heaven.
Still tragic, but a bit more on the bittersweet side compared to Romeo and Juliet.
THIS IS SO GOOODDD. I'mon ep. 12 nowp.s. I hate Duan Wang and Taeho even morealso, why Xiaomei do "that"…
If she really was trying to "help" the FL, then... based on things she said earlier in the episode, she probably did that to separate the FL from "the tyrant"?
We saw the consequences of her actions. The Dowager Empress demoted the FL from Consort to Concubine and ordered her guards to send the FL to the Cold Palace... which is away from "the tyrant" but not exactly a nice outcome for the FL.
But it's also possible that she wasn't trying to help the FL and instead was acting on behalf of someone else... like Xiahou Bo / Prince Dan, perhaps?
In that book (The Devil’s Beloved Consort), the FL lives in a fictional world that is based on our own modern world at the time that the book was written (so before there were maglev trains).
