also i'm gonna say it..the sexual tension between xl and xy whenever he bit her was something else omg..it's been…
So much more so in the novel! The way XY's reactions to the bites are portrayed in the drama, especially the later bites... well I'll just say it's one of the things that makes me prefer the novel.
Although I really like XiangLu and want him to have a happy ending, I have a feeling it's gonna be tragic for…
Interesting comparison. There are definitely similarities between TSJ and Peeta in terms of their personalities and devotion, and the kind of ending they would offer XY and Katniss respectively. The reasons why XY and Katniss would choose them are pretty similar.
As for the reasons why XY might decide to not choose XL... that feels more complicated than the reasons why Katniss ultimately doesn't choose Gale.
Youtube clips sucked me into a mini-rewatch of Love Like the Galaxy and I can't help but see parallels. A female lead who is traumatized and has difficulty trusting after her family members abandon her. Three suitors that fall for her first. One who is gentle, kind and sweet. One with a lofty status who enjoys bickering with her and keeps his feelings for her to himself for a long time, but holds out hope even when he knows it's hopeless. One who is a battle-hardened general who falls for her hard and fast and helps her both secretly and not-so-secretly...
The romance between XY and CX really just gives me the ick cause they are siblings 💀 the literal only reason…
Although it's still problematic, they are not siblings. They are cousins who call each other gege (brother) and meimei (sister). Ah Nian and CX also refer to each other the same way even though they are not related.
question... i've been reading comments here that there's a s2 but does s1 end on any cliffhanger?? i'm not sure…
Part one doesn't end on a cliffhanger exactly. It ends when a major plot point milestone is achieved. But there is still plenty of story left to tell, and it's not clear how the romance of the female lead (XY) will be resolved. At the end of part one, she is engaged to a man that she does not love.
This is very spoilery, so please only continue reading if you want to know how part 2 of the drama is likely to…
Yes, there's no closure at the end of part 1 in terms of XY's romance. There is some closure in other areas of the story where a big milestone is achieved.
I have just finished tteotm and now I want to try out this drama. One question though, I understand this is the…
This is very spoilery, so please only continue reading if you want to know how part 2 of the drama is likely to end. Part 1 of the drama is generally aligned with chapters 1 - 28 of the novel (which has 51 chapters and an epilogue). At the end of Part 1, it's still all up in the air as to who XY will end up with. There is no "endgame" for Part 1. She is engaged to Feng Long, but clearly not in love with him and they have not set a wedding date. The other men are not happy about it, but none of them are in a position to ask her to marry them instead. If you read spoilers about XY ending up with TSJ, those are spoilers about the novel ending. Part 2 of the drama is expected to have generally the same ending.

@ Tallina The threads nathsketch mentioned are great, but just be forewarned: there are a lot of unhidden spoilers from both the drama and the novel in there. It's pretty much read-at-your-own-risk. It's not like the main comment thread where most posts with spoilers are hidden.
Had a good chat with a friend about people finding their own meaning in life today. Got home and my brain turned to LYF (always just a matter of time) and XL. Specifically the fact that he had two great missions in life that gave him so much purpose, and the fact that, when he died, he did so knowing that he had managed to fully and successfully complete both missions. I know a lot of people don't like his ending (XY included), but I'm quite invested in it. I don't want the drama writers to take the things he worked so hard for away from him.
Of all the characters in the show, it's Invisible Hong Jiang that I want to accidentally fall down the stairs…
Ah, yes a vaguely remember that scene. The Middle Plains family dynamics are not part of the story that holds my interest, so I have retained very few details from those parts of the novel and drama.
"Ah, so even in the novel, some of the clans WERE helping Gong Gong."
I'm not sure if those "powerful families" were Middle Plains families or Gao Xing families though. Since the war with Gao Xing recently ended and the passage goes on to say that the families' support for Gong Gong has since dried up, I thought it was referring to Gao Xing families.

I have to stop myself from over-thinking the details here, but imagine a version of this story where XL is no longer involved with the remnant army's fight or their death wish by the time he shows up in front of XY as FFB. He's completely free to actually pursue XY romantically and able to commit to her for a lifetime. I'd so love to see how that would play out!

Glad you enjoyed the first episode. ^^
