I'm fairly sure the cast has mentioned that there will be a happy ending! The third season that has not been confirmed was not originally planned, so it makes sense that they would have wanted the whole thing (which was meant to be s2 only) on a positive note. But I completely agree with you, I feel like the plot is moving at a good pace and I like how the reasons/explanations for their conflict are being intertwined with the scenes of them actually resolving the conflict. Also, the conflict does come across plausible (of course a bit dramatised but... it's a drama series lol). I feel like a lot of viewers skew younger so they can't relate, but a lot of adult relationships have a lot of miscommunication issues and aren't all sunshine and rainbows like a lot of idealistic people want them to be; it's ok, humans are complex and they make mistakes and shitty decisions, and it's good to see that being portrayed.
