Really good article!! Covered a lot of points I use when I try to convince people to try watching some J-dramas. There's a variety of dramas with all kinds of genres covered in Japan that anyone can find something they'd enjoy watching. It's just a matter of entering the dorama world with an open heart and mind. I also agree that Japan isn't in a time warp. I've heard people say Japan stopped making great dramas around 2010, which is not necessarily true. There was a shift in style and production but any industry goes through this.
Giving J-dramas a boost, I'd say their soundtracks are amazing! They perfectly fit right in with the theme/setting of the show which is needed.
Unfortunately, J-dramas are now difficult to find as they are not picked up very often for licensing by websites like Dramafever or Viki. Meaning that they don't get subtitled as often or as quickly as K-dramas do these days. If it weren't for the fansubbing groups out there, a lot of these dramas would fall off the radar and go unnoticed. T~T There has to be a way to make them more accessible but that mostly depends on the demand for them. And that's a whole other issue.
OMG. I somehow turned this into a mini rant. Anyways, people should DEFINITELY give J-dramas a chance!

Ooooh!! I've watched/started some of these dramas but I'm gonna hold off on voting until I complete the on-hold 2015 dramas I've had for a while. I've got a bunch of free time now due to the holidays! XD
