lovely characters, boring plot
i love a good introvert x introvert romance! however. the plot of this show wasn't very interesting, and often times felt like they were dragging it on because they didn't know what else to do with it.i think everyone's different views of dreams and how to achieve them was a great plot point, but at times it felt like they did not go deep enough into it with the writing. i think the characters were lovely and the actors did a great job, but there was potential for more exploration of them both. a soft and quiet story doesn't mean it needs to be dull.

lighthearted and fun
if you were wanting a similar remake of the chinese version, this may not be for you, and i understand. however, if i watch it as a standalone drama and i don't take it too seriously, it's very enjoyable.i have rewatched it a couple of times because it's an easy watch! the characters are cute and the pacing is actually not bad for something in this genre 🤔 i don't think it is meant to be taken very seriously. there is a softness that this version brings to the characters that i enjoy (kim yohan, i thank you), and is a great watch for anyone wanting to de-stress.

surprisingly cute, but feels a tad bit unfinished
i was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed this! if you enjoy sports animes, this drama may be something that appeals to you. i think it was funny and sweet and sentimental.i enjoyed the team dynamics a lot, and it was fun to see how they grew throughout the show. i don't think there were any characters i truly disliked. the portrayal of friendships in this show was something so heartwarming!
i will be honest, i started watching this to hear the ost, and so i didn't go into it expecting the plot to wow me—which it didn't, but it wasn't bad at all. i think due to the length of the drama, it felt a bit messy here and there, and didn't go into building the characters as much as i would've liked for a slice-of-life show.
overall, it was a fun watch! i would watch it again if i'm in the mood for something sentimental but unserious ☺️

very intriguing
i wish i could erase my memory of this drama... so i can experience it again for the very first time!!genuinely one of the best dramas i have ever watched. i recommend this to anybody who enjoys fantasy, couples with good chemistry, and a lovable group of friends.
incredible plotline - it was paced just right for something filled with mystery and magic. it ends on a cliffhanger, but that is where season 2 comes in :) the worldbuilding in AOS is very intriguing and beautiful. i would reccommend it to fans who enjoy action and magic with a dose of romance.
wonderful characters - the actors did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. there is a lot of depth to the more frequently shown characters, and i loved learning about them. jang uk's journey in this plot makes you very invested, and it was cool to see him grow!! mudeok and jang uk had incredible chemistry right from the start, and it was fun to watch them try to deny it until they finally got together!! i also liked the background relationships a lot, they each had their charm.
gorgeous soundtrack - so much that i purchased the ost album! car the garden's song was my favourite, so hearing it play at the end of each episode was something to look forward to. the music overall was also very beautiful 💓
overall, very solid show! have rewatched it twice and would do it again.

beautiful cinematography, great acting, but not well executed
i will start by saying that dear hongrang goes into some heavy topics, which i applaud the writers/producers for. it's not easy to portray a lot of this stuff, and i think they did well in some parts. however, there were many plot holes and the pacing felt choppy—i do think everything only really fell into place in the last 4 episodes, but that the foreshadowing up until then wasn't well executed. i think this would've been a great 3 hour long movie instead of a drama series.there is a very noticeable shift in the atmosphere of the romance/intimacy halfway through the show which would have worked great if they had set it up better earlier on. i do think their chemistry was quite nice in the last few episodes 👍
the actors all did a great job though—especially jaewook. i think hongrang's story is a very haunting one, and he did extremely well with such a heavy role. there is a lot of emotion both he and bo-ah bring to their characters individual stories, which did save the drama a bit.
the costumes and the cinematography were all gorgeous! the ost was also beautiful and i think probably my favourite thing about this drama 💕
overall, i think the ending works really well with this kind of plot, but i do wish it was better paced/executed throughout the actual episodes. it is very haunting though and does leave an impression on you.
