Title Encounter
It's just a fanmade edit, no relation to the drama aka not official.
Oh thank god. I don't want another coma or serious accident.

?? I'm confused by the picture provided. Did they just grab scenes from the fl and ml's most famous shows or like is Park Bo Gum actually sick and in the hospital as the main conflict in this drama? The descriptions never make any sense.

Can I just applaud D.O on how great of an actor he is?
Like wow? A lot better of an actor then I expected when this drama first started, and I never got into historical dramas!

Hello ~
I am currently a Creative Writing major, and in charge of a lot of writing in my college-
I tried to look for ways to write previously, but haven't until now. Is there any way I could write some articles?
Thank you!

To anyone making assumptions and writing reviews: Please don't. It is only 2 episodes in. Get ahold of yo'self.
You people value storyline over setting and beautiful editing/ scenery. It makes me mad when someone does a review when they haven't watched 3/4ths of the freaking drama.

SONG SONG COUPLE FTW UGH.
My favorite male lead currently was surprisingly Choi Jin Hyuk in Devilish Joy. Oof feels in the first episode make me squirmish. Almost like I'm watching a netflix movie where it's been 20 minutes and they are already kissing.
Jung Hae In in Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food is really good. The storyline is meh but there are some adorable parts that make me squeal!

I don't know why this has such a low rating?
I look forward to it every week.
I didn't know if I was going to like it or not but ohhh my godddd

Title My ID Is Gangnam Beauty Spoiler
Some important stuff I needed to get out there while watching episodes 1-8 in literally 2 days.

1. Hyun Jung is my favorite character. She is so upbeat, and has a surprisingly recognizable short face and smile. She is easily someone I want to know more about- because Mi Rae was like talking her monologue and suddenly was all "and there's my best friend" like since when? You didn't mention her before? Was this a last ditch attempt to put a friend in the plot a little bit in. Where was she in Middle School? Didn't they hang out? So many questions.

2. I love the way this drama tackles how the rich life can affect a person's life. Getting away from it, Kyung Seok has to suffer reality. Mi Rae grew up completely different from him, and like me- from a moderate income family. Somewhere in the middle of rich and poor, but still poor enough to know how to uselessly clean something and use coupon codes you find online (like what my work in a poorer area of town does). He is so awkward, and really doesn't know a whole lot. I hope Mi Rae teaches him how to do useless chores he doesn't know how to execute very well.

3. Soo A is such an interesting character omg? I thought she was going to steal the spotlight from Mi Rae and it was going to end terribly but she is sneaky and cunning and I love it?

4. Kyung Seok's sister is so adorable and doesn't belong in America. The American school system is just a lot of loans and really not worth it-- take it from someone experiencing a community college, and still paying a crap ton. No college is worth the money, but come to America and then you will REALLY be in debt. That is, if you don't get scholarships and grants from the Government. I spend a large amount of time with financial aid and difficult issues and college in itself is a fun idea to make into a drama, but the actual college stuff is oof. It makes me oof. I have to go back tomorrow. Ooof.

5. I actually like that they don't show a lot of the school. In Cheese In The Trap, they showed too much and it made it kinda boring seeing her stress over college when I was in college, ya know?

Have yet to watch the show, but can anyone give me a quick summary of what has happened without really apoiling…
The main character gets bullied all throughout her school years for being fat and ugly, so she gets plastic surgery done-- and going into college, she still gets bullied for getting work done. The main boy character though, saw her old face and likes her despite all the hate and rumors surrounding her.

Title Still 17 Spoiler
I think, her acting is the reason one can feel that she is a person at 30 but still think herself like a teenagers..…
I agree. She is just trying to find herself in the new world around her. In her situation, trying to act like an adult is hard, so it makes it seem like she is a little girl at times because her mannerisms are a cross between a teenager and an adult.

Title Still 17
it says 30 but 17 BUT she acts like a spoiled but cute 5 years old in first 5 episodes.... will this thing get…
Imagine if you woke up from a 15 year long nap? You need to learn everything again... so she has some right to act like a cute 5 year old.

From what I notice, there are many different dramas that have a 'whatever happens, happens' factor. Coming from someone who strongly struggles from different forms of mental illness, there is a sense of calmness to the fact that in shows like Eulachacha Waikiki and Age Of Youth (and even some of the now airing show My House Keeper) that a lot of shit can happen in someones life day by day, but when it comes down to it, life is full of unexpected changes that can drive a person's life to be full of happiness and joy. In the darkest of times, there is going to be someone there for you.

American TV shows are very money driven. It's not a concept, but a lifestyle. Americans (in my own opinion) strive off of wanting enough money to survive, and being fussy when that money isn't available. While I work at a college getting people jobs, there are people that have been through some serious bad times, but still shrug it off like it's nothing. They experienced life, and not piles of money. That is a mindset that is hard to learn, and is present through the use of housemates in a drama. They don't care if there are so many people in one cramped place sharing three rooms, they are loved and cared about the same as the rest. Sure, money is great- but friendship and genuine laughter and joy is better.

My mind has been a mess throughout mental instability, but this is what I have learned through some of my favorite dramas. If this even makes sense...
On Come and Hug Me Jul 20, 2018
Title Come and Hug Me Spoiler
To me, this drama didn't have clear ending- sure it DID, it had an analogy with a tree that was linked to Na Moo, but I am left with SO many questions.

It feels like Yoon Hui Jae never got the punishment he deserved- which is death row at the end. I would've been happier for my own sanity that the last time they showed him in the show was when he was getting injected with poison. Also, with a smile on his face and handcuffed to a table, almost like he is going into the afterlife happy with what he has done and is planning revenge even in hell (if hell is really real- that is).

I wanted the writer of this show to go 10 years into the future. I wanted So Jin to be happy with a boyfriend and a nice job where she makes enough to make her mother very happy. I kind of wanted a last scene with her and her mother to be at a beach laying back and laughing, but that is no where near reality since the hell they were put through.

I want Moo Won to live his life without embarrassment, and find someone that would make him less of a sourpuss to taking care of cases. Yeon Ji isn't afraid to speak her mind to Moo Won and I want that to be further elaborated. I want him on top of things, and not lacking behind in the future. I want him to be the father he deserved to have in his life, and love everything with an open heart.

My opinions on Hyun Moo throughout the show changed for the better. Most kids from a young age want to impress the people that impress them. His dad had a mentality that you needed to have power- even through Hyun Moo represented his father and took on many of his traits to be loved, his father never loved him. We didn't know this until later in the drama. He will protect anyone he loves, and has a hard time representing his feelings, but through his actions and body language- he became my favorite character. He did for what he did, and cried when he hurt his own brother. He never intended to hurt anyone, all he wanted was love- and when he got some from Ok Hee- he tended to run away and put it off, not expressing his true feelings. I loved his character and wanted more about him and his backstory, and personality as well. I want him to be out of jail, and in the arms of people who truly love him and appreciate him for who he is. It was the environment, not him. I live next to a bad town, and through my college I meet people who have gone through prison and jail and have done things they are not proud of, and are ashamed of being. They are ashamed of who they were. It is the environment, and the greed to become what you envy. The brain can be manipulated from what you think is wrong and right, into what you want fully out of life. He is not a bad man, and Na Moo still forgave him for everything.

Now, Na Moo. I had problems as some parts of this drama with him and Nak Won. In my own opinion, there was a lot of longing and crying for each other then actual back story of other characters. I have no idea why they wouldn't focus on any others and freeze frame them hugging for so long. It feels like at times the plot just stayed the same, and never actually got to the other characters I really really wanted to know about. That leaves many unanswered questions that will make this post an entire book. I can go on forever. I don't want to do that. I loved Na Moo and his love for carousels and tidiness. I love that he never let Nak Won go, and stayed strong for her through hell and high water.

Yoon Hui Jae. The beginning of this drama he was on death row. Now through all that fighting, he was still on death row. Why didn't ANYONE just shoot him? Maybe I am too American and in an American household but someone just shoot him to get it over with? It is making him more insane the more he is allowed to just sit there and stare at the wall and pictures of Na Moo and Nak Won. I don't get it. Also, what is up with that kid who thought he was his son after reading the book? Where did he go? In 10 years, I wanted to show everyone getting what they deserved, even that woman.

I needed a clear ending, and a resolve-- but maybe in some cases there are none.

thank you for coming to my god awful long ted talk

Putting my two cents in:

My definition of a female lead is a girl who asks for help.
I don't care if she is scared to talk to people about it. Keeping something to yourself when you have multiple friends that truly care for you is sickening in my opinion. They hold so much in before they want to bust.

I, for one, don't want to see the ML helping the FL. I want the other way around. I want to see mental illness and realism in characters and not the world the drama writers want to see- but the world for how it is.

Characters that (IMO) are Strong.
- The FL in My Mister- Ji An
-ALL of the characters in Age of Youth.
-The FL in the movie Late Autumn. (She holds NOTHING back, and the movie is based off of a Japanese movie)
- The FL in Come and Hug Me- Nak Won (You can also put Na Moo in there as well).
-The FL in the movie Two Lights: Relumino
- This might (?) count but Shin Sun Ae in Oh My Ghostess. She really didn't have the need to be as strong as she was in my opinion.
If you figure out how you died, wouldn't you be just as freaked out?

?? Why the hell does this have a 7.3 rating?
It is SOO adorable and the use of English songs takes me back to simpler times. Like You Belong With Me and Hey Soul Sister. Omg!?!
It is so short with no love triangles and conflict. Kinda like a mini movie split into two episodes. I love it! and Park Jung Min as well!
On A Werewolf Boy Jun 24, 2018
Title A Werewolf Boy Spoiler
Why did this movie give me so much Wuthering Heights feels?
Anyone who has seen Wutering Heights- do you notice any striking similarities between both movies- one being adapted from the book and one not.

Why I think this way::
- Wide open fields with many times of little kids running around.
- Neighbor friends that came by to play every day.
-Old- Time y setting. This movie was maybe after the Korean War- hence the "he's just an orphan lost from the war'.
-Chul-Soo (in my mind) can very well be compared to Heathcliff. Heathcliff- if you haven't read the book multiple times because that shit is confusing- is a black slave at the time who falls in love with Catherine, a daughter of a rich white family. Both dirty- well hidden characters in the abyss of negligence from other households. Mrs. Earnshaw aND Mrs. Jung both love the guys right when they meet him.
-The renting (or buying?? I'm not too sure) of a manor-like house in both.
-A shed full of wolves being "tested" on in one, and basically a grange in the other.
Now, I don't know how this movie ended, but I am pretty sure that Chul-Soo came to Soon Yi like a ghastly vision, and not like his form from the start. There was a bright glow in the door- hinting at some sort of afterlife-- this can also be compared to the type of relationship Heathcliff and Catherine had, put aside two families fighting and people randomly dying from the time period it was set in (way wayyy before the Korean War).

Can you make any comparisons? I think there is truly soo much. I am also a lit student so
from one lit student to another ~
Also! Towards the end of this movie, the song I Can't Wait For You To Get Here by Mat Kearney came into my head. It's such a good song and it fits in perfectly? omg?
