Not the best in what I call the "Planoy's Verse" but not as bad as the ratings might make seem

I just finished the drama and whan can I say....

In terms of story, and I mean just the premise of the drama, is better that GAP or Blank (at least for me), the two mains romance only truly starts on episdoe starts on the 1st part of the 9th episode. Now compare it with the other two Planoy works we watched...
I know we shoulodn't compare on this but, being a part of the "Planoy's Verse" and with two other works already adapted is normal that we do...

This drama has it's flaws, of course, the acting of the two mains is a bit shaky at times, some plot points would have benefited from a better and calmer resolution and they should have had a clearer way to differentiate between the dreams and reallity, a a blurred halo around the scene or something like that as it gets confusing at times for us, the watcher, to know which is which.

Other than that is a pretty decent drama with some rewatchable value, mostly for when you are in a drama draught, have nothing to watch and want to pass some time...

The adaptation of Marry My Husband nobody asked for!!

Where to begin???

I'm usually a massive fan of Chinese Dramas (either short and normal lenght ones) and i have some not so well reviewed in my watch list, but this drama i cannot, since i watched the original korean drama...

the original drama has 12 episodes and that's is enough, if you extend the number to 31 episodes then you will (safe for rare exceptions) ruin the drama by extending it beyond the OG history and that is a nail in this drama's coffin, they extended it so much that the story became redundant and unnecessary long...

But, to me, the worst part were the actors, specially the leads; Dai Gao Zheng (ML) is absolutely brilliant in Love Beyond the Curse and in Fatal Allure but here?? Here it seemed he forgot how to act...
Li Mo Zhi (FL) carried My Lethal Man, her acting was brillian in that, but not even close here

More importantly, it seemed the to Mains did not have any chemestry and their kisses and intimate moments showed that, they are both great kisses, but here, it seemed they were kissing wood

I have a belief that the original is ALWAYS better than the versions/adaptations and this drama proves that, you want to watch Marry My Husband??? Watch the original!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can this only have 7.6?????

Now, this is a perfect example of a drama suffering from prejudices...

The ML acting is a shakky at times but the FL... hell, the FL is a brilliant actress, capable of pulling stoic, emotion and wreck whenever the story needs and carries the emotional scenes like very few....
The settings are breathtaking and a good representation of the different climates and peoples in ancient china... where are those that say that chinese dramas are racist????????
And then we have to talk about the story...7.6????? REALLY?????
You want political intrigue??? You have it.
You want a villian that will make you hate his guts??? You have him!!!
You want a romance with REALISTIC pace and not hammered down???? You have it!!!!!
You want brilliant cinematography? You want a gripping story? You want INTERESTING Main and Secundary Characters??
YOU HAVE IT!!!!!


I know that this is not the place to compare, but how can this have 7.6 when My Heroic Husband has 8.2??????
Like My Heroic Husband, the ML starts as a useless coward BUT where in My Heroic Husband he evolves artificially through his modern way of thinking, in this the ML evolves through his experiences AND as a way to impress the FL (how real is that, who hasn't done something to impress a girl)
In here the FL starts Way stronger than the ML, but unlike in My Heroic Husband she DOES NOT humiliate him and she is not DUMB as she understands he is trying to impress him....


An example of an absolutely underrated drama!!!!!

Best Asian Drama I've ever seen and superior to any Western Revenge Movie or TV Show

This is the first time I give a 10 to any drama and with good reason.

While slow at times it never becomes tiresome keeping me on the edge of my seat for it's entirety, with it's gripping story, Oscar worth acting - specially from Wu Jin Yan (FL) - and then there is the OST, god how good can a OST be???

While the story is heavy and grounded, there are some wuxia-esce and humorous moments that could have broken the pace or my interest in what was happening but even those moments were perfectly made and weaved through the story allowing us to breath between heavy drama moments.

Then there is the chemestry between both ML and FL that allowed them to act on a realistic and slow burn romance, never over the top realistcally built through their struggles that contributed to the first drama that I consider to be perfect...

They even gave us a happy ending in the special episode but I would not be sad if they kept it as it ends in episode 40...

Revenge takes time, but when it happens it can be sweet for those who stick to it!

I went into this drama without any expectations and was pleasantly impressed, the story is well written and unlike the detractors might say, well paced, each moment is correctlyu placed into the story, without rush or radomness.

The amnesia part takes 30+ episodes, which is 1+ year as the FL says in episode 34 or 35, mirroring real life, as in real life, amnesia takes time and does not have a quick magic resolution.
The reasons for the FL revenge are relatable and understandable, correctly using the trope of family revenge to the drama's advantage.
The whole arranged marriage debacle does not feel out of place at all as it was in the perview of the dowager to do that in the real world.

Finally i have to give props to Lu Yu Xiao, she carried this drama, making me believe she felt really batrayed by her then potential husband turned fake brother and her delievery of the revenge of her character's family... Brilliant
