Friends

On Theory of Love Mar 15, 2023
I came into these series purely because after "Not me" I wanted to see more of OffGun and I was sure this would be just an okay-ish watch in lazy afternoons, nothing special.
I certainly didn't think I would feel so many things: from absolute rage to gut punching pain and head to toe happiness. The main couple and their friends for the most part feel like very real people even in the most absurd situations.
You will definitely love this if you are a fan of pining or, in turn, absolutely hate it if pining for something isn't your preferred cup of tea.
Is the plot wonky at points? Yes. Do all the character decisions make sense? Absolutely not. Are the characters relatable? Yes. Are the female characters any good? Nope, with maybe one exception.
Will you be able to relate to the decisions that the characters make? For the most part - no. Will you be able to emphatize with the characters and be forced to look at the situations from multiple points of view? Yes, if you are willing to do so.
Will you have an inexplicable urge to wrap Gun's character in a blanket and hide him from the world while also actively fighting the urge to slap some sense into him? YES. But that's exactly the reason why you will get hooked and will have the need to know how in the world do they work it all out!?
I do believe that BLs made before and after 2022 are totally different evolutionary stages so just don't try to compare this to the newest productions and you will be very pleasantly surprised.
