I finished watching this drama, finally. I think the leads’ chemistry is good, but the plot is just…much ado…
Could not agree more with you! I was looking forward to it seeing how uncomfortable the trailer made it feel, the high score and the description but it's just so meh.
Also, few people except you have pointed it out but the music is so weird. Completely threw me off after watching what seemed like a scene that should be deeply emotional.
Being halfway through this eight episode show and feeling confused as to what the show is actually trying to say is so frustrating. The description vs. the actual show are so different (expected mystery and got some weird drama). I'll try to finish it (will post a comment if I do) but if you're expecting something more mysterious, just a heads up that this isn't (look at starflakes' review above).
As for the relationships, being halfway through the show and feeling like none of it makes any sense and all the choices seem really dumb should not be anyone's takeaway imo. I understand that it may get better but this show is acting like it has the time for a slow-burner when it clearly doesn't.
tldr; weird, convoluted, not a mystery, kinda meh characters
Couldn't agree more, I'm about halfway done and I've been so confused the whole time on what the drama actually wanted to do. If this was 16 episodes, It'd be fine for me so far but on episode four out of eighth, everything feels so ??? half the time and redundant. Might just drop it after reading this ;-;
I love the absolute chaos that is Kang Bitna, truly worth watching at the very least half of the show's runtime solely for that. Thankfully, it also has a pretty decent plot to boot as well. Solid 8/10.
It's trying to do way too much all at once. Some of the good is really good but most of cracks show through in the first episode and stay the same as the story progresses. Also, can get quite cringey and painful to watch, the acting is often pretty bad or at the best, subpar.
I watched the original Designated Survivor awhile ago and this felt faithful to the idea but thankfully took its own twist and true adaptation to it. It does feel a bit cheesy at times, but the original was way cheesier usually so I can't really blame it. Decent watch!
This was only worth watching for the secondary couple, other side characters and the soundtrack to be honest.…
They seemed nice, especially early on, and in the flahsbacks, but at some point, he was basically harassing her to the point where she wanted to leave her job. He didn't respect any of her boundaries for almost the entire show and it felt really uncomfortable. I've seen a lot of romance dramas at this point and this one was probably up there in terms of wincing at the level of cringe from the scenes they try to execute but fail and also discomfort in how the romance is played out. This show could have done a lot better in so many aspects and I'd honestly recommend you to just watch something else, unless you have time to waste. It's worth it only for the secondary couple in the show as they were so wholesome but also realistic (compared to the rest of the drama).
TLDR; kinda toxic, okay at best times, painfully cringey at most times, secondary couple ftw
This was only worth watching for the secondary couple, other side characters and the soundtrack to be honest. While the FL and ML's interactions seemed sweet sometimes, it was eventually just a painful watch (commenting spoilery stuff).
genuinely cried near the ending and I normally can't cry which was impressive. also, as someone with autism, I related to geu-ru many times, although sometimes it felt like it was too much of a trope-y character. however, I don't rly mind it cuz the rest of the show was written rly well
I absolutely loved watching it, it's what originally got me into kdramas and will probably rewatch it again in a few months. Cannot recommend it enough !!
