I JUST WATCHED THIS AGAIN, cause the current airing dramas are mostly shit!! It still holds up very well. A DAMN MASTERPIECE!! episodes 15 to 20 is just wow!!! I am a A type personality though and my motto is study till you drop dead! lol. Its worth it when you get into the best universities, get scholarships, get the highest paying jobs at the best companies. lol. great drama!!

I mean. As a lesbian myself, I think people should relax. This was a comment made by the husband of a minor actress in the story. It would be different in my view if this statement was made by one of the 3 female leads or even by the actress in question.
Of course, I abhor homophobia and can't stand for it, and the backlash the husband is getting is well warranted. He is christian though so you can expect ideologies like this, not saying its okay, but not really surprising!!
Its Korea though, let's not pretend that it's a rainbow nation of acceptance and complete freedom. Korea is still a very conservative, homogenous society, where they expect everyone to look the same, sound the same and conform with 'societal norms'. A lot of Koreans are racist, xenophobic and yes HOMOPHOBIC. Most of your fave actors probably think like Kim Junghwa's husband, so not sure why people are suddenly clutching there pearls now.
Nevertheless, this show is just pure entertainment and should be taken only as such!! Watching the show does not mean that you support a homophobic actress, in my view.
I SPOKE TOO SOON! I picked this up again after my friend encouraged me to do so. Guess the "is the tutor the mom?" got taken out of the way quickly which I love. Thought the whole show would be about that? Also seems like the plot between the son and maid will soon be over soon, which is great. Now I am VERY interested to see what happens next?
Also, can we talk about the set, costume design and OST! This looks very expensive and I like to see it.

yes, its a huge disappointment for me as I love the 2 female leads. was very excited for it. My biggest issue with it is that it's trying to be a serious drama, but I cant take anything they do seriously. Like, sky castle was more serious and I believed it whilst penthouse was too funny/OTP for me to take it seriously. (I literally just laughed all the time watching it).

Agreed ?. Sky castle is by far the best Makjang on this list. Penthouse is great, very OTP. Like crazy OTP. Mine is bad, boring and not interesting at all. I LOVE THE LEAD FEMALES. You have too if you like Makjangs like me, but I've dropped it for now and will wait till it ends to see if it is worth another watch!

likeable definitely does not mean snowflake. Remember the protagonist in Woman of Dignity (Woo Ah Jin). She was no snow flake, but she was likeable! Hong Ji Ah is not fully likeable. She has her ups and downs and this outburst was a down and in my opinion should not have been written into the script!
