The thing that a lot of people are missing is that Sky-Nani fans are (in majority) those who want those long, yearning glances between men, the simmering tension just below the surface, the layered words and actions BUT without them actually depicting gay men. Basically, they want the queer coded subtext only minus the queer part.
For a long time now, there exists both intl and Thai fans who have said that they're glad Sky-Nani doesn't have to play "series Y" to be popular and that their "image" is still good. So, I'm sure both Sky-Nani and this series will be alright, because it is exactly targeting towards such type of fans.
This series started off so, so strong but they've avoided major confrontations and we're now on ep8 already.
Also, I personally felt it very weak when Wave declared so boldly that he wanted to be Wave and not a prince, but those words hardly hold any weight when Wave doesn't remember being Davin, doesn't remember the weight of being the next heir, doesn't remember that above his personal interests, he has a duty to his people.
He only knows being Wave and of course, Wave would choose Lava.
Then of course, the double amnesia hits again and he doesn't remember being Wave either lol. Lots of loose ends to tie as well.
Upon everything, the irl issue of how GMMTV mishandled the photo session over at Tiktok Thailand Awards, continued silence from the company, Satang posting pics from the very same photo op but with the women kneeling cropped out, leaves me uncomfortable. Coming so soon from the Miss Universe controversy, it's evident how women are regarded in Thailand's entertainment field.
I mean no hate nor disrespect to these actors or WinnySatang in particular, but it would have been nice to see them speak up for the young artists they have in their agency and if not, at least offer a hand and help them out while they got down/got up from the floor. Instead, we get the video where these men ignore the girls and avoid looking at them while they try their best to balance going down on their knees in front of 15 men. :/
He's such a versatile actor! I hope to see more diverse acting projects from him since he truly embodies any character you give him and breathes them to life.
I'm truly enjoying this show! Every ep is fun, the script and story writing is fantastic, the visuals are beautiful, and of course, the acting is wonderful! WinnySatang are doing extremely well and it's such a pleasure to see them every week. Shame that it's only for 10 eps. It's good to see them both as Male Leads, been waiting for it for a while now!
