I feel for Yoo Ah In. For one he has these emotional issues and probably caused by past traumas. Secondly and it was stated here on MDL on his own profile page...and I quote "He was exempted from military duty because of health issues. He was diagnosed with a bone tumor in 2015. He also ruptured his shoulder muscle while filming two action films, "Tough as Iron" and "Veteran", in 2013 and 2015, respectively. "

Tumors and a ruptured shoulder can all cause immense pain. So his doctor probably gave him some pain killers to help him get through the every day. It happens to so many people in the US. The doctors prescribe a pain killer and at first it provides the relief they need to function...but over time the body acclimates to the dosage and no longer provides the needed pain relief. So people mistakenly take another pill. After the prescription runs out they return to their doctor who will try something else that might help. Before you know it, you find yourself suddenly hooked on the drug and taking more than prescribed for the relief. The stronger the pain killer, the stronger the addiction can become.
Celebrities can have it worse because they have "yes people" around them who will help them increase their addiction. They may even go to multiple doctors to get their prescriptions....I've also heard that the withdrawal symptoms can sometimes be worse than the affliction that began the need for the addictive drug.

Keep this in mind also. Michael Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication , exacerbated by the anxiolytic lorazepam, and less significantly midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine, and ephedrine. So essentially by placing Yoo Ah In in a place where he can get rehab, he may have a better outcome than Mr. Jackson did. I also hope that he is surrounded with caring people who will help him through the withdrawals for all the drugs he's been using leading up to this. I hope Yoo Ah In can get better because I would love to see him acting again.
