Since I've seen both the anime and the drama, I thought I’d answer some of the questions from previous comments. It might be a bit late now, but maybe someone will still stumble upon this and have these questions.
First main question: Is it GL? Yes, but also not exactly. How can that be? Basically, as some people here mentioned, the manga’s author classifies it in the coming-of-age and yuri categories, suggesting it’s supposed to be GL. Now, I haven’t read the manga myself, so I don’t know how clearly the GL themes are portrayed there. However, both the anime and the drama hint at a GL relationship, though very subtly. That’s why many viewers don’t consider it outright GL. Since the drama focuses more on themes like not fitting in, insecurity, fear, anxiety, and achieving one’s goals, that’s where the main emphasis lies. I hope this answers the question well enough.
How different is it from the anime? It follows the anime closely but also includes some scenes not present in the anime, so there’s that. The acting in the drama was really good in my opinion, so I think it’s a cute and well done adaptation. I think both the anime and the live action are worth watching if you enjoy the story.
Does it have a happy ending? Yes ^^

This is a very rough translation of episode 6, for those who (like me) can't wait for better subs. I'm sure there are lots of mistakes, but you will probably get some understanding of what is going on.
