i rly want to know about this show but i can’t handle any horror :( someday if someone has a detailed analysis…
The drama start with a special short where the actors talk about their experiences with the show. On the background, you can occasionally see the director abusing the assistant director named Suganuma (kicking, hitting or yelling at him). It's quite subtle but if you pay attention you can see it. At the end of the special, where they congratulate the actors for finishing the project, you can see a funeral photo of Suganuma on the background as he has committed suicide during the filming. There's also clearly a sense of uncomfortableness among the staff. When the lead actors tell the viewer to enjoy the show, an occultist symbol appears on the screen for a very short while.
The drama itself is very basicromantic comedy, where the female lead gets a new job and her boss ends being her first love from school. But now he is a boss from hell and uses his power to abuse his sub-ordinates and the female lead. She tries her best to prove her worth and he slowly acknowledges her, and they have some romantic moments where they become closer. It's shown that he was also a victim of power harassment when he started his boss, and his boss tries to humiliate him in front of the female lead. However she slaps this man and tells him off, and after this it ends with a love confession scene.
However as the episode progresses, you can see "Suganuma's curse" slowly taking over it. At first it's just short malfunctioning, but then he starts appearing in the backgrounds more and more (first he's just standing in the corner but then you can see his face staring at you like a ghost). At some point there's serious malfunctioning and the video gets all distorted, and hands of dead people/ghost reach for the screen. Then it shows a several black and white photos of several people, who apparently also took their lives due to harassment. These people start appearing as ghosts on the video, and Suganuma's is now seen very clearly (the characters of the drama of course don't react to him). He says that he will ruin this project and will never forgive the main director for what he did, and he also interferes the confession scene with appearing in the place of female lead, talking about his resentment. After this it shows a picture of Earth, and Suganuma's face appears on the screen, saying "you are also guilty". The end credits roll, and the main director's dismissive commentary about the project and its theme (power harassment) can be heard on the background.
Please be careful when watching this, it has jump scares and other horror images/sounds! There's a meta theme about real power harassment at work so I thought it was interesting but if you're easily scared please be aware.
