unfortunately the reason there isn’t much romance between the 2 leads is cause of Chinese censorship’s laws which prohibits romance shown between high schoolers. Writers can only sort of imply romance because they can just excuse it as deep friendship. With any drama set in high school there’ll never be any proper romantic moments other than longing stares, hope that helps clear that up!
