Not gonna lie... I'm too scared to watch this at all because of how everyone is talking about the big changes…
Ik where you're coming from - after that last episode, I remember browsing the internet to find the translations. Fan translation was hard to find, that too so soon after the drama had ended. So machine translation was the way to go.

In the previous adaptation Xu Xu is portrayed as this brilliant yet socially awkward criminal profiler. Her interactions with Ji Bai are filled with tension and sparks. Props to the team for managing to give us that even with 95% of the show focusing solely on crimes.

Agree with you a 100% that it would've been a lot more easier to watch this if it weren't tagged as an adaptation of WASFIL especially when it's so obvious that this adaptation didn't stay true to the essence of Xu Xu's character. Vita's still incredibly smart and perceptive here but with an added dose of confidence and flair. We still see her struggling to find her place at work, messing up and owning her faults until she gets her foothold towards the end of the lakorn. That part's still the same.

Personally, it was a lot more enjoyable when I imagined this to be some sort of fan-fiction for the OG one 🤣

Watched the Chinese adaptation a couple of years ago so can't really be sure, but the cases in Thai version seem to be completely different. Thank God I can enjoy both as two separate dramas! TBH I'd watched ep 1 as soon as it was subbed & out! But it was so disappointingly boring that I'd moved on. Came back to continue since I was craving a lakorn in this genre and this was the only one I'd left un-watched.

So if you're like me, don't give up, it gets better after ep 1!

I need to emphasise that Wang Ziwen did justice in her portrayal of Xu Xu - she didn't break her character at all. Vita's character seems to switch between the Xu Xu's intense 'do not disturb me when I'm on a case' mood & playful mood, intentionally done I suppose. But both are thrilling in their own ways.

Thai version is perfect if you need a little humour to accompany intense storylines like this. Chinese version is for you if you're into serious case solving.

Will there ever be a S2 for this? I don't think so.

By the time the leads finally get together, the drama is way beyond redemption. It started off so well & went downhill soon after that. Oh well, just another episode of bad script

Wow. That ending made me cry buckets of tears.

Here I was rooting for Pian & Pink more than Pete's relationship arc, especially with all that 'Tawipob' references made throughout the lakorn. That bait made it seem like Pink might have her time travel fantasy come true after all.

Ik that it was doomed since the beginning since there's no Pete without Pian & Wannee BUT hear me out! Pian wondering if he was sent to the future to find his wife & not just to solve Pete's problem was such a moment - he could've meant finding out from the old photograph but the way he looked at her as he said that?! No idea about others, but to me it definitely felt like he was hoping that it was her.

And what's with all that suspense created with the photograph even after it was restored? The moments leading up to her opening up the envelope to finally look at the photo & smiling (makes you wonder that she'd have cried if it was someone else other than her, so it must be Pink!) and then she hands it over to Pian - who's instantly devastated that it's actually Wannee in the photograph & even locks himself in the room. Poor Pian & Pink :'(

Pian feel in love with Pink but had to save his granddaughter Pornsiri & his great-grandson Pete so he ultimately married Wannee to save his descendants. Pete & Wan got their HEA, & Pian probably grew fond of his wife, Wanne [who we already know, will die soon after giving birth] & Pink is all alone in 2020.

Ugh, Pian & Pink deserve their own lakorn. The writers could've at least given them an out after Wannne's arc is over & done with, but nope.

This will teach me to check the ending before watching a time travel lakorn

Also, still wondering what happened to that phone which went back to 1920 with Pian. After the battery dies, how does he even dispose it?

does anyone know if Chasing in the Wild (Sevis story) is being made?
Over on Wattpad, the author has mentioned in her bio that it'll be adapted 'soon'. We'll just have to wait & see when that'll be

I've watched Araki Yuko's stellar performance in Trace alongside Ryô Nishikido so obviously I had to watch this for her! Yamashita Tomohisa's character went through moment after moment of bitterness & agony, but the actor pulled it off so well. Shinji's manga was the reason for that constant smile on Hibiki's face, but when everything went downhill for Shinji, Hibiki reminded him that his works have touched so many other lives like her's - how painfully sweet is that?

Fun! Bright looked hella handsome in that red sherwani & although Bella's character didn't make sense at times, it's a fun-enough rom-com. Those voice-overs explaining about mehendi & phera seemed pretty accurate. It reminded me of Adam Sandler & Jennifer Aniston's movie - Murder Mystery 2 which was also about wedding planners and an Indian wedding.
