It seems really convenient how the TV ratings reached a new peak of 1.85 (#1 nationwide) when Hua Wuque's subplot starts to pick up with more scenes of him and he becomes friends with Xiaoyuer. The audience knows what they want and that is 双骄.

The gov controls social media like a snap of their fingers, they don't need a drama to further divert attention away from current issues going on, they can just erase everything related to it from weibo and even the entirety of Chinese internet. Also, the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC is coming which prompts the gov to monitor the currently aired shows with extreme severity, which is why ppl are surprised CQL still managed to survive till this day.
WangXian got gayer than I expected in the latest eps, the drama already passed 3B views like Guardian and went over a score of 7.0 on Douban just like Guardian (and still counting), its popularity is insane... So if it was any other dramas, it would've been taken down already due to these achievements. I wonder if cql has any powerful ppl (or Tencent) protecting it behind the curtains? Either way, I'm not complaining because the last ep is now available for VIP users and that means we've officially escaped censorship from taking it down YAS
I watched the latest two episodes and I’m in tears at JZX, WQ and the whole innocent Wen clan dying, but Shijie’s death has to be the hardest for me to deal with. It saddens me because I really enjoyed seeing the daily life of WWX living with the Wen’s and the familial bond between him, WQ, WN and A-yuan, but we’re never going to see that again. My heart breaks so much for WWX being tormented like that by almost everyone insulting him and painting him as the villain. Xiao Zhan did such a great job switching between the revengeful, dark and ruthless Yiling Laozu and the depressive, heartbroken and suicidal WWX :( I can’t wait for next week where we’re back in the present and hopefully less and less sad episodes along the way!
Now that we are half way through and near the end of the flashbacks (my heart couldn't take anymore flashbacks)…
This is not a simple matter, he cannot just give up on this dark path because his life would be on the line. As another person said, WWX gave up his golden core to JC. Living without a golden core is like living without a heart. You are going to die sooner or later. Him practicing the demonic cultivation was inevitable. But it saved his life. He wanted to live, he wanted to avenge the deaths caused by Wen clan, he wanted to protect his loved ones. I personally pity WWX more for the horrible things that he has gone through that LWJ has not even experienced nor even thought of what WWX may have gone through. WWX may be an impulsive person, but he is not stupid. He is one of the most intelligent characters in the novel. He does know the consequences of his decisions, his case is special because he is left with no other options.

Nah, 6.7 is pretty good. For the past few years, barely any ancient dramas get even get an 8. Most of those masterpiece period dramas like Story of Yanxi Palace get a 7 lol.
I’m really close to dropping this series. First they nerf WWX in favour of Xue Yang, now they have the audacity to let Wen Qing play the damn flute to control the monsters when it was supposed to be WWX’s unique ability. At this point, anyone can become the founder of diabolism!?

I can’t stand Lü Buwei, one instance he’s nice to her, another instance he treats her like shit. Be a man and make up your goddamn mind. She deserves better than this. And this is doing nothing but making me root for her and the prince more.
