I'm so excited to see what song was chosen and how it's been recreated by GD. It feels like it's been so long since we've gotten GD to recreate a song that wasn't originally his, but each of those times have blown me away. GD's rendition of Maroon5's This Love, and Lee Moonsae's Sunset Glow from the early days of his time with BigBang are amongst my favourites. It's so fascinating how he was able to recreate the songs in such a way that crossed international/language barriers (with This Love), and generational barriers (with Sunset Glow). For BigBang's version of Sunset Glow, in particular, I remember it was also a project song created as a campaign to help the seaside villages recover after an oil spill incident. Good Day project really does feel like GD is going back to what inspired him to become a musician (the festivals and collaboration projects), revisiting his own history of rearranging masterpieces to create another work of art, and continuing to use his music towards supporting good causes.
It's so nice that the whole point of the show was to bring people together for a good cause, spread positivity/ good vibes, and donate all the proceeds. But I'm worried because they said that the target date for song recording would be at end of Feb... so the song is probably already recorded and now we'll have to see how they respond to the current sentiments. I really hope that the positive original intent of this entire project doesn't get overshadowed by the other things going on.
The fact that it was translated as the Sea of *Japan* in the *Korean* national anthem is what makes the whole thing worse. It's not so much an argument about what other countries should call that sea.
It's a Korean show, where they are singing the Korean anthem. The subs should respect that the characters will say "Eastern Sea" in that context. It doesn't make sense to include the name of another country in their national anthem, especially if it's a country that they have had difficult history with.
The director did a great job with portraying the story and they definitely had really well-executed action/fight scenes! All the actors did an excellent job with their roles. Villian made me hate him. Protagonist made me cheer for him. The story itself is pretty simple at a first glance, but there's definitely a lot of depth that they've added to the main swordsman character. We can see different aspects of him and how he came to be the way he is.
