sometimes it takes years before complete sub is available hahaha, still waiting for 99.9 season 2 to get all episode…
Yeah, this is a good example of what I was saying; actually it's not subbed by sites like the one you mentioned, it's subbed by an individual fan subber, and usually subbers put in the work when they have time. They're not getting paid, so it's often irregular. The streaming sites often make ad money by ripping their work. https://chibimui.blogspot.com/
I’m kinda new to jdramas, so I’m still getting used to the long wait for subs, compared to the rather short…
The main reason is that most J-dramas (especially current) are fansubbed...in other words, people who put huge amounts of time into subbing them out of the goodness of their hearts. So a delay could simply be because that subber has too much going on in their lives!
A lot of people think the streaming sites where they can often be found have master subbers behind them, but those sites are just taking videos from fansub blogs and uploading them for profit. You can often see who is subbing what by doing a search for threads at: https://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=27 I think sometimes those streaming sites do rip internationally airing J-drama videos from English channels from like HK or Singapore TV, although I believe there are far more that are fansubbed..
It's Odagiri Joe! What's with the low ratings so soon? Cannot comprehend. Personally I have to wait for subtitles…
Haha, it's like, how could he be in something not good? Well, there are only 5 people who've rated it, so if just one person put in a low score it can come out to this. At one point there was a troll who would just automatically put in a 1 for every J-drama at the beginning of the season, which would skew the early ratings in a confusing way! Hopefully that's no longer the case. Haven't watched it, but I'd bet it's not bad!
Ugh...even though I look forward to this every week, am I the only one who think Sayaka is still so not a likable character? She still seems shallow and self-absorbed and boring so that it's hard to see why Yuichi likes her... but then she seems more interesting when interacting with nutty boss!
As much as I don't like politics, I ended up loving this show!I'm so glad to see Takahashi Issei as a main lead…
Thanks for this, it made me want to watch! I love Shinohara Ryoko, but I really have also noticed how much I like Takahashi Issei in his supporting roles in the past. And you are right, after watching the first ep, I totally agree with you about Tanaka Kei, I was surprised to see him in the husband role, but he is really perfect for this role. I'm looking forward to the rest of the drama!
Don't link to people who take the subs for their own gain, link to the people who make the subs. Thanks.http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=164355
I think there's some confusion for ppl not on d-addicts as to how to find a drama or navigate around the message board or how to use it in general...or what the deal is with the convenient-to-access (but not-too-safe) sites that rip subs off of everything they can find, whether a blog, paid site, anywhere. I do know there are fansubbers who will quit subbing once they start getting ripped, and then their audience on that other site suddenly doesn't know why the drama suddenly only has raw eps available.
@Ceki I wonder if one of your MDL writers also frequently on d-addicts could offer a quick nav guide for this that would help people know how to best watch subbed dramas from the best locations? I noticed that front page article from an English-to-3rd language subber who wrote a great piece helping people get a better sense of how much work they put in, so maybe this would be appreciated by others too?
I don't know how many times I was like kawaiiiiiiii~~ and yet it was so full of 'ups and downs' as they said a story of romance should be to be interesting. This is one of those romantic dramedies that I feel only Japanese TV can produce so specifically, with unique characters and relationships, and both full of realistic feelings and thoughts about relatable life situations and yet a sense of lightness that makes it a feel-good story.
Oh yeah, Shinohara Ryoko was just awesome, too, so she made her character totally authentic and strong while being utterly adorable and witty at the same time, but without trying. And as someone already mentioned, HER FASHION~!! Also that hair!! (^_^) Yay for 'mature' arafo otona joshi!
she looks just a little different in every drama I see her in O.o is it because she's a good actress?
Little changes at a time, and people think you still 'look the same'. Gradual work gets done when you've been on screen for awhile, and then it just seems like you're growing up. But seriously, these are classic celeb nose and eyes 'changes'! Celebs get them so often that ppl start to just think it's normal even when we know it requires changes or when you can tell some people picked out the same Euro nose.
It looks like she actually made millions of plastic surgeries lmao
Ironic, true, but who hasn't these days? Almost all celebrity women have the eye widening surgery and the same straight thin Euro nose job, as if there's only beauty in having the same nose that most Asians don't have. Pretty sad....what's wrong with normal Asian beauty even if different from Europeans? It's like you can't be a celeb without changing your face and creating a false, unattainable standard of beauty.
I think they kind of knew that the ending would disappoint a few so they decided to release 2 special episodes…
You know, normally I like/prefer the lack of pressure to manufacture some romance between leads. To me it was just that I felt there was so much alluding to Ukai's past being sort of mysterious or at least a bit complex, and somehow tied to his memories of the hotel and meeting SS there...so it felt like things would be revealed in a more significant way! But the recognition was so oh yeah, that's right! That was you, huh. Yeah, that's why I wanted to come here, yay!
Even if not a 'first love reunion' type thing, I was hoping it would be more momentous and be meaningful to all, especially those characters. But in the end he still seems so enigmatic, like we still are not sure how he's changed or more of his inner feelings. Which would be perfect if there was going to be a second season at the other hotel (and I thought the character doppleganger for everyone was brilliant, too funny!). But all this to say, I'm glad there is a more satisfying ending, and I hope I can find it eventually! I think it's just on Hulu in Japan, like so many specials! Regardless, the ten eps as they are made it such a fun and comforting type show!
For people watching this, I'm curious, what's the image this story is giving about plastic surgery? Is it kind of like 200 Pounds Beauty/Beauty is Painful?
Gotta say idk if this is an official live action of Girls of the Wild's or if its "inspired" by it instead of…
I was wondering what the fighting would be like, but I guess I shouldn't have expected much when skinny-armed girls with no muscles get cast in these athlete roles! The standard of beauty is getting wayyyy too narrow imo if these actresses aren't even allowed work out properly so as to keep those stick-like arms! It's like fake badassery lol
I think they kind of knew that the ending would disappoint a few so they decided to release 2 special episodes…
Well that's a relief that there is more...I'll have to check it out! The first ending was understandable but kind of abrupt. I mean, after all that build-up in the opening flashbacks of him and Sakurai Sana as kids, he just tells her oh yeah btw that was me...!?!
No romance is fine, but not when we see everyone else confessing, and then have been watching those kawaii childhood memories throughout the whole season!!! So the hanabi scene with the two of them was too anticlimactic, right?!
I agree, I just can't picture her in romantic roles, I don't know why... she always seems like someone's older…
Right? I can never believe she's still in her 20s...I mean, I'm totally someone's older aunt (lolz) and she seems more mature than me! I guess that's why she was so great in Asa ga Kita, playing a teenager to an obaasan. I think the one romcom I mentioned is the only romantic role that worked for her b/c both characters were supposed to be total dorks (her being a particularly majime dork)!
But I was also watching her this season in Mikaiketsu no Onna, and while she was okay as the super chipper young detective, it still seemed a bit off as a role! Hopefully she'll get back to some serious roles where she tends to excel imo.
THIS WAS SO GOOD, MAYBE EVEN BETTER THAN THE US SUITS... I also freaking loved the ending where Choi Kang Seok…
I liked the ending too, and thought they wrapped things up perfectly...which surprised me given some of the complaints here. I agree too with you about the romance. Just right. Hope they'll consider doing the second season...the cast chemistry was so good.
Hmmm...I haven't seen American Suits so I don't know these character names, but All three of the main female characters…
Hmmm...I don't know that interesting female characters are rare in K-drama. I guess it depends one what genre you're used to. Charm, sass, wit...and I stand by what I said, if you watch the whole thing, you might feel differently about the character, although perhaps not as she's from a different culture than Donna. And I thought her outfits were pretty sweet. Again, not America, so sure, they don't translate into American charm, sass and wit.
