What a class act! I'm so glad she spoke up and clarified, instead of just taking the heat silently. She must have more support from the industry now than before. It's time she distanced herself from toxic users, because she clearly has friends who value her the way she deserves.
Keep shining Shenyue! You're perfect as just Shenyue ✨
Omg I saw multiple video of him tripping others, being violent to shen yue and you shu xing, and ding cheng xin.…
Wang Hedi once broke Liu Yaowen's ice sword, frequently criticized his senior Xu Zhisheng, said Huang Xiaoming was "half-buried in the ground," joked that Shen Yue was an idiot and pulled her hoodie drawstring to cover her face and bob her head around (this video is particularly uncomfortable to watch btw), told Xu Yiyang that she wasn't pretty in front of Huang Zitao, made his senior Wang Chuanjun wash his clothes, and tripped several colleagues, causing them to fall... He's an abusive bully and he tried to orchestrate a witch-hunt against shenyue for clout. He's pushing 30, he definitely knows his fans would go after his cast members. Stanning is fine but it's kinda pathetic to stan someone who's outed himself as problematic with clear videos and pattern.
So, the show was filmed over three months ago, they recently had a live group call and all. All this time, there was no problem! But now after so long, this guy acts out??? There was no group chat, period. That has been clarified. Also, the meaning of the award is also clear, that they (not just her) wished for him to be just himself without additional burden. There's nothing malicious here. During chinese restaurant the cast made fun of the boss and he took it well. Wang Hedi has, on multiple occasions and shows, mocked shenyue. He's even height-shamed her. But that's ok?
He definitely knew what he was doing. He's always clout chased using cp and let his female leads be cyberbullied by his rabid fans. What a pathetic, insecure loser!
I don't understand what you are talking about. Wang Hedi is the boss. He was chosen as the boss, he was allowed…
They're not actually being paid by Wang Hedi. All the cast members are celebrities taking part in a variety show for exposure. Him being designated as the leader doesn't mean the whole show has to revolve around him. And the guest celebrities are also mostly Wang Hedi's friends.
See, there's no balance here and there's blatant bias. The show's called "The Inn", and not "Wang Hedi's Inn". The expectation from the previous seasons were that of a balanced and equitable screentime amongst cast members.
All of them know multiple celebrities to bring. Also, the whole him choosing the cast is definitely something I'm not buying because the show is a continuation of previous seasons, all their agencies and the channel have a part in it. And yes, them unpacking was shown. But after that, once the place started functioning, the shift was obvious and drastic.
I dropped this after the second episode because I didn't find it to be an enjoyable show. If this suits your pallette, do watch it all.
So this may feel offensive but in china every show or every variety shows or dramas are basically made for money…
See, but other shows featuring WHD aren't like this. So this whole, they need to focus on WHD only narrative, is false. This is deliberately a WHD show when it doesn't need to be, and the rest of the cast members were slighted. Also, imo it's not that serious an issue to be offensive. However, it's made the show kinda boring and unpleasant for anyone that just wants a fun variety show which is not a WHD show. Oh well, we'll watch other stuff. No big deal.
took the words out of my mouth lolI agree... well even at start it was obvious that this is Didi's show, given…
Yes! CR9 had much easier camaraderie and the screentime of the cast was balanced. HXM was great as a boss this time, not overpowering and definitely not hogging the screentime.
This show shouldn't have been named The Inn because usually the inn is not a one-man show with minions that work to the bone only to get their work edited out.
I'm pretty neutral towards WHD. But I felt like the other cast members felt like supporting characters to WHD's main lead. Not because they don't do enough, but because of the editing. The other cast members weren't given much screentime, while WHD was given too much, even at times when there wasn't anything substantial to show.
Only WHD's friends were invited. Not fair.
I watched the last season of the Chinese Restaurant. Huang Xiaoming, despite being the boss, had a much softer approach (I know he wasn't like this in previous seasons, so we have to credit his experience for this). Everyone had equitable screentime. The atmosphere felt much easier, despite them running a crowded restaurant. It felt more like a team.
Here, I feel they're working together, but something feels off. It's always WHD working, him telling someone to do something better, him playing with his friends, him relaxing, him telling someone to take it easy... Clearly the others are also tiring themselves out, but it's conveniently left out.
I don't hate WHD, I just don't feel like anyone who's not a die hard fan of his would enjoy this show. He's not to blame though, whoever scripted this is to blame. But if this is the way they wanted it, then ok. Not my cup of tea then!
She's soo gorgeous and her moves are soo graceful. This and her award night outfits show that she's not playing anymore!!!!!
High time she led a costume drama and with a solid ML like Bai Jingtintg, Zhang Xincheng, etc!!!!
Btw I've noticed she's hardly mentioned in reddit, and youtube channels that cover dramas and gossips, like Marcus Here, didn't mention anything about her award or other stuff. Idk why.... Such engagements and mentions would be beneficial in expanding her reach.
Ohmygoshh her outfits at the weibo gala are EVERYTHING ❤️❤️ It's almost like her team went through the comments here (mine specifically 😁). She's dressed to highlight her strengths. She's so beautiful and elegant.
And finally, her acting has received the recognition it's always deserved. She's so unfiltered while acting, it's rare these days.
And finally, I hope shen yue realises that she looks perfect. And I hope she doesn't lose more weight, coz then it would not allow her to carry outfits well and will make her look tiny. Now, she looks like a perfect beauty.
Really glad she's doing the July Found by Chance adaptation. The work has a section where the setting is historical/costume. If utilised well, it can be like a mini xianxia. Shen Yue's never been a xianxia lead, so I hope the drama has it, and maybe that can get her more opportunities 😁.
I see people saying she'd be great for lovely runner, if adapted. But I pray she doesn't do it. It would be undoing all the progress she's made from her A Love So Beautiful. She would be typecast as the quirky, chirpy, average fl pining after the glorified ml. LR drove the male lead to popularity, while the fl got underappreciated. The whole drama is about the FL's dedication to the ML so I felt it was looking at the ML through the rosy eyes of the FL.
I wish yue would do something like IU in WLGYT, Hyeri in Friendly Rivalry (though not likely due to the rules), Imada Mio in Trillion Game, and so on... A solid work that helps her break out of her usual image, and one that doesn't label her as too small or unattractive, because honestly, she's not. She just need better clothes.
Her styling seems like cosplay sometimes, though it's getting better these days. She doesn't need to hide behind oversized costumes and weird hair. Look at Imada Mio, she's also petite but doesn't let that label her in a negative manner. Shen Yue's clothes, hair and makeup during the Mango TV ambassador announcement (yay!) are really great. Makes her look like the attractive and capable adult she is. Hoping for more like it.
"There's no need to segregate straight and queer elements, them coexisting in the same universe is actually very…
That's ok too. However, if a drama has both, that's not bad either. Those who want segregated stuff can watch those, and those who don't mind both queer and straight elements being together, can watch such dramas.
I'm so pleasantly surprised to see her outfit in the Guerlain event. Finally, something that's mature and accentuates her beauty rather than hiding it.
I've always felt like she's hiding behind oversized, childish clothes when she doesn't have to. She kinda reminds me of Imada Mio (japanese actress). Imada, however, is more confident in her skin and that shows in her dressing. Scarlett Johansson, Kylie Jenner, Imada Mio, Alia Bhatt (Indian Actress), Sabrina Carpenter are all around the same height as shen yue, some even shorter. But they're never hiding themselves.
Shen Yue is so naturally beautiful. Like, I feel a lot of the other actresses all look the same, or try to. These days everyone goes for exactly one type of look, I feel. However Shen Yue's features are a breath of fresh air. She reminds me of older actresses in their prime, like Maggie Cheung.
And she can really act. If you see dramas these days, a lot of the actors and actresses never really emote with their eyes. They also never make much expression as if they're scared to look less than perfect. Then why venture into acting at all. But shen yue, and hyeri, never care about that imo. If you see reply 1988 and a love so beautiful, the actresses go all out without caring for their image. And yet, they don't get enough credit for their acting while actresses with less expressions, even when the scenes require more, are overhyped. But if you see other dramas, especially newer ones, nobody does this (with VERY few exceptions). They all play safe with their emoji acting, that makes me drop the show/movie. It's not sincere.
Finally, I like that her voice is like that of a real, young woman which is really attractive to hear, and not like an infantile anime voice. Idk why they do that. Can't stand it.
People who are calling it bait due to there being less skinship than what they want, simply don't get the plot. It's a mystery thriller where the romantic element is gl. Adding skinship where it's not needed is actually what's queer-baiting. I think the romance here was dealt with respectfully, just as it's done with straight romances in dramas where the main focus is not the romance. The relationship between Jae-i and Seul-gi is shown to be complex and more than skin-deep.
Next thing I wanna say is regarding those people who very upset at the straight make-out scene between Jae-i and the guy in ep 5. This is no different from people that are repulsed by gl scenes. That scene serves the purpose of showing the complexity of Choi Gyeong's emotions regarding Jae-i. This drama deals with psychological and sexual complexities. The scene is not out of place. There's no need to segregate straight and queer elements, them coexisting in the same universe is actually very progressive.
If you wanna watch just skin-ship then this is not for you. If you're homophobic, this is not for you. If you wanna watch a well-written, well acted and fast paced mystery thriller, then look no further.
I think she's purposely doing variety shows to showcase her charm and to create a more mature image so that they stop type-casting her.
Also, anyone else thinks she should do a drama with Zhang Xincheng after watching them in Wonderland S4? He's not too awkwardly tall for her and they're both pretty and expressive.
Keep shining Shenyue! You're perfect as just Shenyue ✨
