If this was released 10years ago, people would eat this up. Sad it fell to 7, but I'm also honestly not in the mood for the plot shenanigans. I'm just watching it now thru tiktok edits 😆
she actually is. she's more gu qingzhi than she is xihe actually. it's important cause the one doing all the thinking…
All her actions are based on XiHe's life but with QingZhi's wisdom. For me she's not really QingZhi because she didn't even make any attempt to do anything for her old life (revenge, reminiscing, etc). It's also rather weird she has no thoughts at all about Prince Xin being her former husband and her previous Brother-in-laws pursuing her. She's not XiHe but she's not QingZhi either. And I still don't see the point of the merge. They could have made original XiHe smart and cunning too. But I'm still ep7 so maybe there is more to the soul merging plot.
wth is FL a dog or something?! Why does so many plot revolve around her sense of smell haha Once or twice is enough, but it gets to a point it's ridiculous.
she was never attached to them in the first place, plus it took qingzhi’s soul 3 while years to find xihe. From…
Thank you. I'm also starting to conclude the same. It seems she is still more XiHe and her primary motivations/actions are rooted on XiHe's identity and only using QingZhi's wisdom. Sort of like having downloaded an upgrade pack lol It's just the synopsis is kinda misleading. Plus, if that is the case, I still don't get the point of merging souls. Why not just have XiHe with that cunning personality from the start. But I guess, I have to watch more and see QingZhi's relevance.
I'm still in the beginning (ep3) and I feel slightly off that these men all used to be her 'in laws' and her previous husband is right there, yet she doesn't seem to be weirded out or have any thoughts about it. And she doesn't seem to know much about the family. I don't understand the story haha Wouldn't it have worked better without the soul swap/merging? Just give the original body the same feisty character.
Just finished. I think the movie is rather weak. At no point did I feel attached to any character that I rooted for them to stay alive. The other comments are right, it is plot driven. The characters are not fleshed out properly that they seem rather pointless. It was a unique concept, okay to pass time for 2hrs but nothing special.
Currently watching... their hero complex is pissing me off. It's freaking annoying, specially when they're sacrificing for undeserving characters. Other than the fresh hivemind zombie concept, this show is mid. The actions by the characters are unrealistic and frustrating. It doesn't have that emotional impact like Train to Busan.
What I appreciate and what worked for me is that this show did not have a confused identity. It did not pretend to be a serious dark noir or a heavy angsty drama. It was a bit cartoonish and unrealistic from the get go and that helped me manage my expectations and just enjoy it for what it is. It has the right balance of action, fun and a little drama.
I enjoyed that stupidly long happy ending haha They really milked that 20% rating with all the PPL they inserted. With this show's success, I'm pretty sure they will expand the PTJ universe now. This might end up something like the Japanese High&Low franchise. Congrats to the whole cast and crew. It was fun!
Same with Agent Kim, the only way to enjoy this is to not overthink and apply too many real world logic. I like that there is a bit more 'realism' here than in Agent Kim tho, atleast here you see them use more gadgets and technology and not just be basically superhuman 😆
Idk if I should recap s1 but I do not see the logic on how setting up the shop protects her niece. Does he mean about the money they acquire from that? Because he was able to go under the radar for so long, if it weren't for the shop they could have kept their peace.
I was so lost on first half of ep1 but then it picks up and got interesting again. Imagine if JinMan's crew team up with Agent Kim's gang. They're so OP 😆
The story is ridiculous and unrealistic but I like it haha It's because early on they already set that tone, it's not like those other shows which has confusing themes.
Also, I think HanSoo's kid will be able to manage. That kid is a menace.

I also like that he retained more muscles, I'm tired of skinny chinese actors😅
I still don't see the point of soul merging and how it's vital to the plot.
Capt Bu is the most believable cross-dressing woman I've seen in drama land. Future Cdramas shld take notes.
Prince Lie for some reason really reminds me of Jungkook haha

However, I think his voice (VA?) doesn't suit him.
