Okay so, different timelines.First. Wei Yan is in love with a woman, and they are supposed to get married. We…
Thank you. What was not clear for me is the fake pregnancy. Was that an honest mistake by the physician? It doesn't seem to be part of the Emperor's scheme as he looks angry when the physician said she's pregnant.
Also, for Princess Chengde. Why did she burn herself and swap QiMin, again? Was it fear from the Emperor (did she know Emperor killed his own son) or the Beiju people?
At first I rated this drama 7 then 8 then 6.5. It started sweet and enduring, got interesting in the middle, and…
The small town arc was perfect. Had they followed the original novel story line throughout, the last 15episodes would have been better. The tv version took many liberties and overdid CY's 'strength'. It got too much at one point. This seems to be a pattern with tv shows adapted from novels. Most of these novels have complex plot that when tv show runners starts cutting for the sake of airtime, the overall plot loses logic. I have always wondered why most cdramas are so good at the beginning then suck at wrapping up stories. Until I read the novel version, everything actually makes sense in the source material, it is the tv version who butchers their own show.
Overall great drama! 1-24/27 absolute perfection 28-40 downgraded but still better than 80% of other Cdramas.
I wish they elaborated more about WeiYan, I like complex characters like him.
I will miss the feelings this drama brought me. And I will miss the discussions here to, except for some immature fans who can't take it when you make comments about their favorites or praise other aspect of the show. π
hi guys im a casual watcher but this drama is so captivating i want to get more into it!! can anyone recommend…
Someone uploaded a link to download the epub verion in the Discussions above. Yes! The novel is so much better plot wise as the events were more logical.

I love matured commenters here on MDL. The main couple tub scene is also good. But it's a lot shorter than expected. Seems the director really did cut it. π₯²
someone said "maybe the bathtub scene in ep 38 was cut as the punishment of leaks"
Yeah, I saw some longer version in Rednote. If I were the producer I would have added more of the deleted scenes instead to encourage viewers to support the legal version. Deleting more scenes is counter productive and does not punish those who leaked.

good lord you're taking this show too seriously! π I'm not a hater nor a fanatic (which obviously you are). I'm just a casual viewer stating an opinion and light hearted comment.lol These actors/actress you're defending with such passion don't even know who you are. Go out and touch grass.
Finally saw main couple's intimate scene, gotta say I find QiMin and Qianqian a lot more π₯. XZ and CY in the tub look like clothes spinning in the washer at one point π
Some are saying XiZheng-BaoEr will be the same as WeiYan-QiSheng. But I don't think so. QiSheng being dumb is also one reason why WeiYan holds a lot more power. BaoEr already shows how smart and capable he is. Plus with his Mama's influence (Qianqian who is a modern woman), and Ning (future Empress), I don't think he will entertain any power struggle conspiracy. Although realistically, XiZheng and ChangYu should probably relinquish some of their military and regency power. History shows conflict always comes with power imbalance.
Recent shows I've seen that in my opinion self-imploded. I start with saying these are already overall above average shows that have such high potential and such good start but couldn't sustain it. 1) Prisoner of Beauty - deviated from the plot that logic no longer made sense towards the end. 2) When Destiny Brings the Demon - the 3rd life arc lost the show's spark 3) Feud - so many clues hinted for an epic wrap-up with many 'Aha' moments, but ended up with a lame closure 4) Pursuit of Jade - sadly the tv version changes they did after ep27 didn't work out for me. Shame, this was almost perfect early on. Still hoping to see some good scenes for the remaining episodes
Hopefully I do not have to add Love Beyond the Grave on this list π₯²ππ

All others sadly got butchered after ep27.
