Few months ago I have dropped this drama after watching first 20 mins. But Joon Gi is great actor, so I gave it another try yesterday. Now I admit my crime of judging book by cover, or well, judging an entire series by half of first episode only. (I did that with SKY castle as well, first 20 min was agonizing and I dropped it only to give it another try later and like it)
Aside from the obvious great story, great acting, and amazing action scenes and stunts, character development in this drama was DAEBAK. It felt so real, I watched characters mature and just fell in love. Of course, it has fair share of funny scenes where I can't help but laugh out loud (hint: \^o^/). Though, greatest sell point for me was its underlying cynical setting of predestined events. Sometimes I already know the outcome, but I can't take my eyes off screen watching every detail on how events fold (and maybe even plot twist). Pretty serious and emotional but it doesn't feel forced because I actually understood why characters are behaving so. Most of the time, characters are rational, and situation gives drama, not just tsundere creating drama.
Recommended to watch, especially history/action/romance diggers out there.
