Wait thought this show would be more popular ....I mean the cast is really good and the plot seems interesting…
Right now it's very much in "underrated" territory. Disney+ has only released it in a few countries and their promotions are not great so people just have to find out about it through word of mouth. If you scroll down there is a long comment 9 days ago by walnutheist that explains just how lacking the promotions have been for this drama. To add to their comment, trending posts about it on Korean sites like theqoo have been deleted, apparently because of copyright. It basically boils down to Disney not fully understanding the market they are pushing this in. As this is their first original Korean drama it's to be expected I guess, but I do wish they did more research into the market to give this gem of a drama a fighting chance.
I saw the cute poster and already watched the trailer. But I still need some of your reviews, is this good or…
It depends on what you like of course, but I'd say it is good and there is something for everyone in this drama. It has humor but also angst. It doesn't shy away from dark topics but also packages the story in a lighthearted bow so you are not stressing between weeks. The pacing is fast, just a warning.
Also I'd also say watch up until episode 6 before really judging, because it takes a while to get into. I didn't like ep 3-4 but I'm so glad I stuck around because episode 6 was *chef's kiss* and I hope it stays this good.
I agree that this drama is playing it so safe, its just another generic idol drama in police setting that we have…
You're surprised people are into a light and wholesome drama that distracts them from all the crap going on in the real world? Just don't watch if it doesn't suit you. You don't have to come here and judge those who do like it. And looking at your list you haven't even watched any of it 🙄
Great discussion topic, here's what I think. Her character is hard to like but at this point in time there is not a clear answer to that question. She is a pawn of Kang Nam Gi, whose morality is still somewhat ambiguous. He seems to be fighting against corruption and trying to bring down bad people, which would mean Yoo Na's character is probably on the "good" side. However the story is also setting her up to be an antagonist to Seung Hyun who is being targeted by Nam Gi due to his father. Regardless, she is not necessarily a bad person - she is being taken advantage of by the only adult she could trust after a rough childhood and is simply following his orders. I believe (and hope) we will be seeing more dimension from her in the episodes to come as she is confronted with what she is ordered to do and starts to make her own choices.
If D+ was indeed trying to compete with Netflix, they would've made this drama globally and readily available.…
When you put it like that ... Disney+ is really slacking at the promotions. In spite of this I see a lot of talk about Rookie Cops online. The story and the cast is really carrying it.
gi hanna's character is like a filler lol literally she's plain annoying and i have zero pity for her. i have…
She was so annoying this week. I know she'll have a bigger role in the future and they are building toward that but still, she doesn't need to be *so* standoffish.
Now that we're almost halfway through...any favorite character interactions?since I'm bad with names and spelling:Freshmen…
Seung Hyun and Tak definitely. They are foil characters of each other - Tak the hot-headed, difficult, emotional character and Seung Hyun the mellow, sweet, understated character. Somehow ended up together and make great team.
People really be pinpointing an actor for their character being written the way it is in only the first few episodes.…
I just saw a weird rant below after reading your comment and I have to agree with you. The ML is getting shafted hard so far. When characters are treated like this, it is hard to get a good understanding of their personality or story. And if you watch enough dramas you'll realize you just need to wait and see if the story eventually comes around to them.
But in this case, the actor is getting blamed, probably because he's so new, and also probably something to do with the stigma against idol-actors (I swear actors can come from any profession but only when they are idols will their previous profession be relevant but I digress). It's not like he's an incredible Oscar-level actor which is apparently what is needed for youth dramas but the writing is much to blame here.
Isn't it curious how when the story focuses on one character, that character's actor will stand out more than the others? In this case so far it's Eun Gang. Hopefully by tomorrow this comment will be outdated because they will finally decide to give us more of Seung Hyun.
"this role shud have been given to someone who would have brought this character to life"He's already giving the…
O.o Not sure what drama you watched but it couldn't have been Rookie Cops - not even the best actor could save this role so far. He's barely gotten any lines. Blaming it all on the actor is plain weird.
Can't wait for the new episodes tonight. I hope they actually give the ML some scenes this time. They've been mostly neglecting his character so far. Not even giving him a chance to do much except one great action scene.
