I feel like this is a promotion issue. THK was shit but it was "successful" cause it clearly got more promotion than Ossans Love (I honestly really liked ossan's love TH)and Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist ever did, not to mention the cast it had. Shows like this, ReVamp, will most likely end up a "success" cause of the promotion. HSF was EVERYWHERE when it was airing, not only was gmmtv constantly pushing it but fans were too. The only thing GMMTV is doing right is promotion.
I like to think of the "bad, low budget" shows as placeholders so their actors won't run, until the "good" heavy promo show comes. They 100% know (like you said they know the industry), they just dont care if ppl are going to watch either way.
GMMTV isnt doing not one thing wrong, They aren't wasting their money. "Don't fix what isnt broken" GMMTV is in the lead cause they have a constant stream of shows and other companies dont pull that off. I'd like to see DMD put in the effort to pass GMMTV one day. That would be a crazy battle, DMD should definitely be the lead company.
I feel like this would have ate down more if the main role was given to someone else. I don't think Gemini can deliver.
