I'm still finishing the drama, but I swear Tencent, if you dare replace ANY of the main chars, be it ZCL, FBB, or WY, it'll be war in both China and internationally....like....one of the main reasons the first 2 seasons have been so well-liked in China and internationally is because the perfect casting for the leads. Even book-readers have to agree that it's like these chars stepped out of the donghua onto the TV screen. At this point, PYC IS ZCL, WYL IS FBB, and NH IS WY. Keep it that way Tencent.

This is laughable lmao. There were plenty of moments in the drama that needed acting and she was expressionless in them too, let's list a couple shall we:

1. Girl....pouted while she was in a straightjacket in the mental wards. That's right, pouted.
2. Wide empty eyes, expressionless face when she found Taeoh in the hospital after the attack. She was clearly meant to convey some sort of anxiety + sadness + worriness but nope, all we got was her classic wide-eyes open mouth face.
3. When she returned back to TaeOh's home in the early episodes after earlier deciding to go to SML's home, she banged his door with a ...you guess it, empty eyes, expressionless face in a scene where she's clearly supposed to be acting out her heart taking over her actions.

There are plenty more scenes. Stop excusing her "acting" with her goals or personality or wtvr. There have been plenty of women like her in Kdrama who have been praised for acting. She ain't some new concept that we have to carve out some special considerations for.

The police found AN OPEN PHONE underneath the table at the murder scene....and didn't bother to check it or scour it, something super basic lmao. The murderer somehow didn't see a recording phone.

HuiJu had a convo with Hyewon about the whereabouts of TaeOh.....and then we never found out what was talked about. Like wtf was that scene for? Killing time?

I'm going to stop here but calling this....an amazing storyline....is wild....even if this is your first ever Kdrama.

Lmao, how easy it all is huh. Taeoh just happened to be jailmate of a gang boss who happened to have the money he needed to buy more shares. There happened to be a phone (that was recording!!) at the crime scene LOL. The police has had this phone in their possession this entire time but no one bothered to go through the content of a phone found at the crime scene? And you're telling me the Director/CEO of what is basically equivalent to Samsung has.....0 protection as he's in the hospital and Inha like could just stroll in and try to kill him and stroll out just like that lmao?

I read that this is the first ever script for this writer and that he/she was someone who helped other writers trim their scripts in the past. Clearly, they should go back to that job, because they absolutely have no idea how to write even a decent script.

Hopefully there's a season 2, if only for the sake of them giving the ML some ways to be useful to the FL. Because in this season, all he did was whine and held her back with his ideals of "you don't have to kill anyone and I'll definitely somehow find a way for that to happen even though I'm like literally the dumbest and weakest ML ever to exist". This is literally after she showed him how humans straight up massacred her entire people lol.

If this is a setup for season 2 where the ML is hinted at having tremendous powers, then it work OK. On its own though, it spent too much time on some superflous stuff that it forgot to invest more in the worldbuilding (like the rules of the magic shown throughout the show or more history on the Five Spears) and characterization.

Why does it matter if she wasn’t Inha’s finance yet lol? Hanging out alone frequently at night with someone else’s long-time SO is not problematic?? Are you kidding lol?

And EVEN IF we accept the drinking buddy hypothesis of yours, you think a picture of them meeting alone on a rooftop when it’s publicly known that she’s dating Inha is not scandalous lol? Because clearly the press and the populace and the Inha himself would OBVIOUSLY believe that they’re just “drinking buddies” huh? Can you let me know where you live that the press is this nice and naive?

Yes, it would be? Secretly meeting your (at minimum) business partner's gf of 10 years on a rooftop every night (or at least quite frequently), is already a problem in itself lol? Like TO should have known, that as he gets more entangled in the family, any weaknesses would be seized upon. And meeting with a girl who already had a SO for years IS a weakness, because that fact could easily be used to blackmail him, lest the news get out than the CEO's secretary is a homewrecker.

Ep 5-6 requires some nuanced acting from the FL for this script and I'm so sorry but I can't lmao. Anger? Shock? Conflicted? Sadness? Determination? Slightly wide-open soulless eyes with maybe a little pout here and there ought to do for all of them right? Like the part where she found Taeoh in the hospital after the assault? I dare you to find one shred of worry or anxiety that she's clearly supposed to portray in her facial expression.

But more importantly, the FL is neither charismatic nor (yes I'm saying it) has the looks enough for me to even plausibly believe that two guys who live with their heads could fall for her at 1st sight, and for TaeOh to the point that bro's still somehow "in love" with her for 10+ years, and to the point where his "flashing memories" when he fainted was her LMAOOOO. Like I'm sorry, to this point, they've had how many "emotional scenes" together? Yet I'm supposed to believe she's somehow etched so deeply in his mind that when he's about to die, that's what he see? Kinda sounds like the writer decided that's the case, but forgot to show us why and how along the way.

No, it's not. It's stale af with blank eyes. I'll give an example. One scene in Impossible Heir had one of the ML holding her back and not asking her to go to the other guy. We can tell she's supposed to be conflicted with her back turned to him, yet her acting and specifically her face had ZERO conflict in it. When she came running back to him later, there was also ZERO emotions in her face, at a moment when clearly her heart took over her brain and made her go back to the person she likes instead of the person who will provide her with a rich future. Yet she couldn't act out that emotions taking over her. Those are just a few examples. Y'all just think that being a cold girl means acting robotic, but there have been PLENTY of cold characters in dramaland that have been praised for their acting.

Neither as it was open-ending. Though it was pretty strongly implied imo that she likes Beongseok, and we already know Beongseok likes her. Might be changed in the drama though, since they already added a bunch of extra scenes between Beongseok and Heesoo in the drama that was not in the webtoon (ex.: the "I Miss you" part, the making a playlist for her, the literally spending every day with her in the gym when he can) or changed scenes to make it more romantic for them two (ex.: in the webtoon, how she discovered his power don't have any of the hugging or the holding arms part at all). We'll see I guess.

It is indeed disrespectful. Reply 1997 has a 8.5, City Hunter has a 8.4, etc. and they're all vastly superior to this drama lol. And I say that as someone who dragged themselves through the first two episodes and plan to give it another week for it to get better.

Jinyoung can't act lol. He's fine when we have most of this drama being light-hearted romcom and fun stuff, but in any of the heavier scene (like the one at the end of episode 9) when he needs to be sad or emotional, it's literally just a scrunched-up face with 0 tears or emotion in his eyes. It's frustrating because this is keeping me from actually being more invested in the characters themselves. This is even more apparent next to Cha Tae Hyun. Oh well, it's a fun, though brainless, watch nevertheless.

I looked up the character profiles of this drama, and it described YiCheng as having TWO marriages? So I'm guessing we're having a divorce soon unless these profiles are wrong? Thank god, because I would have dumped XiaoLang the moment she plagiarized an entire article off of him and then gaslighted him by trying to make it out as if he does trust her then he can't make her feel sorry or some shit.
