i guess the webtoon ending is only possible cause it's a webtoon, if they go with that route in the drama it's basically a career suicide IMO. some people forget that there's sexual assault/r*pe, abortion topic and using an innocent kid for revenge in the webtoon. i think that would create a lot of issues in korea, so i guess i'm glad they didn't stick to that. i love both the webtoon and drama ending respectively.
lmao i was seriously expecting a different end, the cliche and predictable ending, like how the villains always lose at the end of the story. i was expecting an ending like in the webtoon or some light yagami type of downfall but ahjin says "sike!" and caught me by surprise. i was gagged... why do i feel like there's going to be an S2?
i can't stress enough how fucking good of an actor kim yoo jung is! she's SOOOO good here, and i'm left in awe as usual. the other actors aren't overshadowed either, they act so good! the ending scenes of EP9 and EP10? chef's kiss.
EP10 they're all crazy, every single one of them. no one is in their right mind here and also i'm shocked when i saw the scene they were filming. i'm pretty sure i saw that on EP4 what...
EP8 PURE CINEMA/10 well i absolutely lost my mind and i'm very much hurt. also KIM YOO JUNG!!! such an amazing actor! she ate this role so fucking hard i got goosebumps.
EP 7 HOLY PEAK i got goosebumps ahjin you crazy bitch i'm scared bruh i was jumping between "don't go crazy, don't go crazy" and "please give me chaos it's too peaceful". i really love ahjin, jae oh and junseo. they're all fucked in their own way.
definitely bcs of baek ahjin. there's a lot of hate and debate about her on twt, ig, tiktok and even here, all because she's using those poor innocent men, which is kinda funny cause there's only few female villains as an mc but suddenly everybody becomes woke and start moral policing. you won't see this kind of over reaction when it comes to male villains. joe from the series "you" is a good example, despite being a psychopathic serial killer he is loved by many.
ngl i feel like kdrama watchers are just not the best target audience for a female villain mc (alot of them are male centered and mostly prefer romcoms and hero stories). this series would've been appreciated better in anime and i'm basing this on how popular and loved makima (csm), lust(fmb), tomie(junji ito) etc. like there would still be drama but i know a lot would appreciate ahjin's evil side more and accept her as who she is, a villain.
just watched ep 5 & 6, and i was amazed by how the director and the actor did junseo so much justice. i remember not caring about junseo that much in the webtoon but somehow i really feel bad for him in the drama. the way they directed the ending of ep 6 was kinda cruel lol. i feel like if you were a fan of the webtoon, it makes you appreciate the drama even more. i've been let down by a lot of live action adaptations as an anime fan, so it's nice to see a well-adapted drama.
also watching this series somehow reminded me of when i first watched death note and how the concept of an mc who is also a villain is so interesting to me. i loved light yagami's downfall and i will love ahjin's downfall too (they're both my favs).
OMG i loved it and i can't wait for the next episodes. i'm so proud of all the actors, they acted so well! i was honestly surprised with kim young dae, i was never a fan of his works mostly bcs he has this monotonous way of acting BUT i see improvements here! i'm sorry for doubting lol hopefully this won't be the only work i'll enjoy.

if you love kdramas like, reply 1988, twinkling watermelon and 2521, i would recommend watching our generation. stories that focus on character development, the influence of the environment and how it affects a person's growth, also with nuanced characters will always have my heart. i rated a 9/10, only reason why it isn't a 10 is because of the editing and i also wanted more episodes!
