I’m on episode 12 and I’m so annoyed at Gong Shang Jue turning up every 5 seconds with his annoying brother with another scheme that they don’t have evidence for and grinning wickedly until they cry because their plan failed
I’m fairly new to cdramas and I’m interested in the style of dress the characters wear. In other dramas the style seems tighter on the waist for both men and women. Is Blossom more accurate or is it more reflective of a different time period? I’m also aware most dramas have a fantasy element so is it just made up depending on the frame? Any insights are appreciated!
Yes, I liked that it didn't take the leads too long to patch up. It didn't take 10+ episodes. They loved each…
This! Such a positive of this drama was that no misunderstanding lasted more than a few scenes! Even if the villains tried to stir up trouble, the other would be like “well, I’ll just ask my husband/wife what happened” like a normal person! So refreshing, although I do think shows have gotten better about that lately
I loved that this show didn’t have annoying political drama that went on for all 36 episodes but instead focused on smaller issues that built up. I also liked the FL a lot, she was smart and ruthless but also soft and kind. It was nice seeing a show where the FL was sure of her feelings and had to do a bit of chasing to get the ML
For the first 20 episodes I thought this was going to be a favourite for sure, but it quickly gets high on its own drama until around episode 35 when it becomes good again. The second ML was instructed to perform the part so ridiculously that it ruined the story. I didn’t find the FL annoying, I thought both leads were sabotaging their relationship equally but at least the FL didn’t know what she was sabotaging! Still worth a watch but I’m looking for a historical fantasy C Drama that keeps the momentum from start to finish!
Can anyone tell me if there is any reason why they forced his mother to drink poison? Why is his uncle killing…
For the mother drinking the poison, the previous King’s consorts and his mother didn’t like the Queen and so kept telling the king she was nasty and to depose her. The King agreed, probably because he didn’t like her that much either and his mother talked him into executing her too. I don’t think they’ve really said why they wanted her gone, she seemed like a bit of a free spirit and maybe they didn’t like that
They shouldve made the competition with the Ming chefs one round or axed the competition for the Dowager Queen. Too many competitions, too little character development. And I don’t even mean romantically - when was the last time Ji Yeong and Gil Geum had any growth? And the Chief Royal Secretary seemed like a very morally corrupt person but he’s been chill for a while. I really like how good is represented but plz, I need character interactions
I loved this so much! It’s entertaining without ever relying on stupid misunderstandings! You know it’s a good friendship group when you miss the characters. Does anyone have any recs for similar cute dramas? I liked that it told the story from school into adulthood. Also any recs for anything else any of the actors have done?
I didn’t love the show until halfway through but it sure was refreshing to watch a drama with an adult sense of humour and the characters acted their age
So I guess the reason she isn’t assertive with her ex is because he’s the only one who knows about her cancer and it looks like she’ll be swayed towards going back to him so she doesn’t have to tell anyone else as he can look after her. It explains why he tried to take the popcorn because I have a relative who had some of their stomach removed and they’re not supposed to eat sugary foods either. I’m mad now but I’ll be furious if she’s sick again and it’s not just a side effect of having a small stomach
Me at the beginning: KILL THE KING Me midway through: LONG LIVE THE KING But seriously I was expecting this to be way worse based on things I’ve heard. I think it fell into the same trap most historical dramas do of dragging out the politics. Is it even a sageuk if there’s not an annoying, evil and grinning minister who outstays his welcome?
