Yeah my country has a constitutional monarchy, so I understand it. My point was that I-An is popular so him being regent makes sense even if it’s not traditional because they need to stop criticism.

They describe the character of i-an as a grand prince, a spare who's good for nothing than having his royal title.…
I’m hoping we get more information on why I-An is the regent because the uncle being regent is common in other monarchies, so I’m not sure if they changed it for story purposes or because there’s an actual reason. He’s the most popular member of the royal family with the people, so maybe they ageeed for it to be him to appease everyone who thought having a child King was a stupid thing in the 21st Century

Really?where are u from
The UK! The way the royal family seems to operate in Perfect Crown is similar to our royal family but the drama has some differences based on Korean culture which I find very cool to think about

I always tell myself I won’t get this invested in an airing drama, and yet here I am counting down the days…
I kind of understood the criticisms in the first two episodes but it’s clear from episode 3 that the prince likes to tease and Byeon Woo Seok is so good at it, IMO!

The third episode was so much better than the first two it's getting really good now!!! 😁I hope they show less…
I feel like the queen Dowager really leans into the old sign of the monarchy because she has nothing else going for her! it’s really well done that she manipulates her image to stay relevant but all it takes is a slight move from the Grand Prince and she’s irrelevant and that infuriates her!

As someone who lives in a constitutional monarchy, seeing this drama apply the rules to the same society I’ve seen in previous dramas (not saying it’s entirely accurate), but it feels reallllly accurate to the rumours I hear about how our monarchy survived to modern day!

The kissing scene… why IU doesn’t kiss back her male lead ? Why she is always surprised and open her eyes…
Knowing the character of Hui Ju, she’s going to get him back at some point 😂

I agree, at first I thought “woah that is a little greedy” but from her point of view you can see he only pays attention or looks up when she demands things from him, so of course she does it!

I think the only reason he wanted to become a King is to free his own nephew on that burden like that child should…
I agree, I’m just glad he wants to take over from his nephew rather than being humble and following the line of succession! I’m glad he has the backbone to see his nephew can’t cope and try to do something about it

So he’s admitted he wants to be King? Thank God, someone get that poor, lonely little boy away from these people asap!

At what time (Europe central time) does Disney upload the episode?
It goes live around 3:20pm BST so I think that’s 4:20pm CET! It’s not exact though as they put it live after it’s finished airing in Korea so it depends on episode length

I’m on episode 12 and I’m so annoyed at Gong Shang Jue turning up every 5 seconds with his annoying brother with another scheme that they don’t have evidence for and grinning wickedly until they cry because their plan failed

There’s an excellent Twitter account that talks about fashion, accessories, make up in c dramas. I don’t remember…
Wow I love that they explain literature and art references too! Thank you so much, I’m going to have so much fun reading this account

Thank you so much for the kind welcome and the explanation! That’s really helpful, especially the explanations for the different genres!

I’m fairly new to cdramas and I’m interested in the style of dress the characters wear. In other dramas the style seems tighter on the waist for both men and women. Is Blossom more accurate or is it more reflective of a different time period? I’m also aware most dramas have a fantasy element so is it just made up depending on the frame? Any insights are appreciated!

Yes, I liked that it didn't take the leads too long to patch up. It didn't take 10+ episodes. They loved each…
This! Such a positive of this drama was that no misunderstanding lasted more than a few scenes! Even if the villains tried to stir up trouble, the other would be like “well, I’ll just ask my husband/wife what happened” like a normal person! So refreshing, although I do think shows have gotten better about that lately

This show was golden. I love how the FL and the ML balanced each other out. Women don’t need to be badass fighters…
Same, I love my badass FLs who can fight but it’s nice to see someone who has to rely on their intelligence alone!

I loved that this show didn’t have annoying political drama that went on for all 36 episodes but instead focused on smaller issues that built up. I also liked the FL a lot, she was smart and ruthless but also soft and kind. It was nice seeing a show where the FL was sure of her feelings and had to do a bit of chasing to get the ML

For the first 20 episodes I thought this was going to be a favourite for sure, but it quickly gets high on its own drama until around episode 35 when it becomes good again. The second ML was instructed to perform the part so ridiculously that it ruined the story. I didn’t find the FL annoying, I thought both leads were sabotaging their relationship equally but at least the FL didn’t know what she was sabotaging! Still worth a watch but I’m looking for a historical fantasy C Drama that keeps the momentum from start to finish!
