I think, Pran's mum was hurt because he was her friend from the time they were children... She must have worked hard for that scholarship. A scholarship that could be good for her future. He lied, and he stole. He never apologized and in the end, all he stole it was for to join his family business, for which he wouldn't have needed that scholarship for... And despite what Pat's dad had done, I do think he feels bad, but he's not telling it out loud... Family Pressure can be too much at times, people go into depression because of it, sometimes. It can affect them mentally. To be someone your family is proud of is everyone's wish. But, some parents want their children too be perfect. Maybe Pat's dad was like that... He made bad decisions, I'm not defending him. He did something wrong, but you cannot change the past. All you can do is apologize and hope Pran's mum will forgive him, with time, for Pat's dad, Pran-Pat's sake.
