Sure, it was mostly an action/mystery kind of movie, but dong's character whenever he is not kicking someone's ass, has a fun soundtrack and has even a scene where he gets all silly when he catches a plushie on one of those claw-machines (nothing against these cute moments but «comedy» should always be mentioned).

This is the classic dynamic of an abusive parent/partner/wtv towards the victim. Plus she grew up watching her dad «taking care of people» to have his way and even murder her own wife (So Ra's mother).
