No offence but I think the writer needed to watch some secret agent movies before working on this…I mean what’s the whole point of a Bluetooth earpiece if they’re all gonna walk around touching it in such an obvious way while on a secret job😒 Portraying some super smart characters yet no one figured that out smh

I think if it’s a personal dislike from past work or her looks then it’s unfair to comment that on a drama page. I too don’t like her but she somehow did exceptionally well in this drama. If you dislike her in this drama then fair enough.
That was some amazing writting performed by excellent actings from all involved. My main thoughts with this drama was that apart from FL acting young in the beginning Everything else was very believable!! Main leads weaved a great story of love and support. Everyone else played their roles to perfection that I got conflicted emotions throughout. And can I applaud the writers for what I think is truly one of the most heartwarming and satisfying end scenes in a drama….kudos to all involved in the making. It’s a masterpiece.
Story of Minglan is my all time favourite costume drama in this period so when I noticed that this drama was highly recommended by so many due to their similarities I of course had to watch it, even though the FL isn’t a particular fav of mine & I couldn’t see past the pairing of the leads. It’s still not anywhere as good or exciting as Minglan but it was defitnily an enjoyable watch. The leads were surprisingly okay together & it did help that ML as always drew me in. The plot could have been better in my opinion but I didn’t mind so much since I get to enjoy another drama with a witty FL that ain’t always helpless & full of jelousy & whining. Only downfall for her was her stupidity in love sometimes…I mean she dragged out that courtship way too long for someone in that era and in her position. Overall thank you for all the recommendations on this….it was defitnily worth the watch.
Gosh can they write better characters for a FL!!! She making life altering decisions for herself & not to mention her child because she doesn’t want to “make anyone sad anymore” is an absolute joke! And stop always trying to sugarcoat an ending & miraculously turn every annoying characters into angels 🤦🏻♀️ I watched the drama in a day…I was skipping so much and I didn’t even missed anything important. It’s just one of those dramas where they drag out a secret or a discovery of an important matter & someone always interferes when it’s about to come out. I just skipped what happens in between and it somehow made it a bit tolerable 💁🏻♀️
Seriously!? The Main couple only got together in the 2nd half of the very last episode!? I don’t know what the writers were thinking but by that last episode I all of a sudden found the FL’s character annoying….I know everyone was happy about it but FL took the attention completely from her BFF’s engagement with her bickering (where she had to be asked to be pretend to be happy for the night by her friend) then getting drunk with the groom Bao whom I felt didn’t have a proper comeback…and if that wasn’t enough they also wrote the BFF’s wedding and had the FL took all the attention again. 🤦🏻♀️ And BFF’s ex most defitnily did not deserve the hostility from FL especially when he seemed so happy for her in the end…he was an idiot & clueless but he defitnily loved the BFF all throughout their relationship. ML proposing all of a sudden after ignoring the FL for so many years was a bit weird too…they’ve just reunited 2 or 3 days beforehand as well and she was arguing with him the whole time 🙄 Why couldn’t they just add an extra episode & write a proper reunion of the couple while also letting the audience have more than a glimpse of them as a real couple together!? That ending felt way too rushed. Too many unexplained situations to get me wanting to wait around for a season 2 anyways l.
My problem with this type of show is a ML being obsessed with another female (even if she’s deceased) for half…

I don’t mind love triangles but a love triangle with a ghost is bit hopeless in my books and to have his past romance so detailed and dragged out for so many episodes just got me confused & bored. 🤷🏻♀️ I tried reading the comments to see if by some weird twist his past love ends up being her with lost memories but it seems what I found out is even worse lol Since I didn’t finish it I can’t really completely judge the plot but so far it just feels like he only took interest in FL cause she reminds him of his past love and honestly who wants a love drama starting out like that. She wouldn’t even stand a chance if the other was alive lol
Cute & funny…only fault for me was that the I didn’t really feel the FL developed in anything 😆 Cringy at most and sometimes feels like he’s dating a kid.
This was honestly a bad movie, plot made no sense, leads fell in love too quickly, the sister's intentions were…
Leads falling in love quickly is how it’s usually done in movies since it’s only around 2 hrs long….dramas drag them out for our enjoyment, and if you noticed the little details they actually didnt get together till months later since the secretary mentioned that he travels 1/2 an hr for a cafe every morning for months
A good watch…yes FL can be cringing but once you accept that it’s part of her character/personality then it can be considered smooth sailing from there. There were parts I had to skip but they were never for too long or when they show side character’s (not family included) work/romance and it was mostly because I needed to know what’s happening for a certain plot they’ve put through. All in all I like that the leads had years to be apart since they’ve grown up together all their lives…and the fact that even when they are apart living their own lives they still made it back to each other makes their romance more solid. The plot/ story is good and you’ll enjoy it even more if you don’t get too hung up on the little details that don’t even matter. The whole environment gives you good vibes & the interactions between all the characters especially the friendships of the parents to the friendships of their children was really enjoyable to watch and although the leads romance was little to non-existent in the 1st half, it was still a feel good one when the drama ended. Note that if the ending was hinting for next season of another similar future romance between Dou Si Yuan‘s son Yanxi & the Main leads’ daughter Anning then yes I’m all for it 🤗
Already a year and they still haven’t subbed the last few episodes!?? Judging from the comments this drama would have a higher rating if it wasn’t for the unfinished subbing. I’m gonna put it on my ‘Plan to Watch’ list….nothing like enjoying a drama straight through just to not understand the ending.

Hahaha kept waiting for the alarm to ring BL too…I’m not a fan of BL dramas but this drama’s settings was perfect for it..and the leads are so far from perfect ppl that I would have much preferred BL mix to their romance too.
